Default Base model F-type

Has anyone here driven the base model F-type? I'm curious as to how good it is since the dealers I've been to have only had V6s and V8s models for me to drive.

p.s. hello there, first time poster and potential first time Jag owner as well!

Default I did

When it first came out I drove all three models. I thought the cost of the S worth the upgrade and then moved to the V8 because, well I kinda wanted a beast. But the base was a fine car. I think I'd still want the vision pack and active exhaust if I could get them. Those are the two features I really love about the car. I doubt I could give up the upgraded seats but the base seats weren't bad.

For me there was a noticeable difference in the ride (suspension) of the Base compared with the V6S. I don't believe the Base has the dynamic suspension which makes the ride kind of "bouncy". I'm sure over time it could become annoying. Since the S was more than I wanted to spend I decided to hold off.

I bought the “base” model and find it VERY comfortable riding. Yes I came from a C6 vert but still. My wife even likes the ride.

The power band for the base and the s changes at about 5,000 rpm I’m told, so makes little difference to me.

I did get the active exhaust which I’m very happy with.

The base model is an awesome car! I would also recommend active exhaust and vision pack as a must have.

I test drove all 3 versions over some rough street surfaces. The base model ride was far too stiff for my taste. I do not think that I would like to live with that in areas with pavement quality issues. The electronic dampers on the two other models make a significant difference, IMO. Those dampers should have been made standard on a car, like Jaguar, across all model lines.

I have a base V6 with upgraded wheels and active exhaust. The car is fun to drive and sounds great. Its stiffer than an XKR of course. But it rides much better than my last Z4. I like the suede/leather seats due to the heat here in Texas. They don't burn the legs as bad as all leather. I have had it 4 months now and the only fault I have found is a door rattle on the passenger side.
