Why doesn't the V8S let you select "phone" as a music source, when your phone is connected the F Type via Bluetooth? It only lets me make calls on the Bluetooth connected phone.


I think it's because the V8S has Sirius satellite radio but the base model did not have it, but that would seem like an odd result.

 

I had a V8S and listened to Spotify from my iPhone via Bluetooth.
Have a coupe R now and continue to do so.

Occasionally it gets stupid (will send Google Maps directions through a phone call instead of BT is one example), but turning the phone to sleep and then up again usually resolves it.

I had/have Sirius as well (although never use it)

 

Not sure what phone you have, but my Android LG G3 has two Bluetooth connections, phone and media. It should connect to both, but I've seen cases in my other car where it only connects to phone. So then you can make/receive calls, but the media audio won't stream. Go into bluetooth and make sure both are connected.

 

Did you have your phone plugged into the USB port in the center console when you tried to play via bluetooth? If so, thats your problem. When your phone is connected via usb, it disables bluetooth music streaming.

I found it. There is a button called "source" that you have to press to get it to play what's playing on your phone. I was confused because in the base model, I would press "Mode" to do that.
