Default basically I only drive in gears two and three from 0 to 55mph or so

If I'm in that speed range I keep it in only those two gears.

That's seems to be the best technique for sound. With exhaust open obviously.

Still deciding between dynamic or regular mode though when doing the above. I like the smoother ride of the non dynamic.

You do know you can change the ride/shift parameters in dynamic mode, don't you?

2nd gear does give some radical sounds on my V6S, but I'm usually moving too fast for that. 3rd and 4th are great for commuting - good sounds, and good acceleration.

I like the way the transmission automatically downshifts as I'm slowing down.

I'll go to 4 sometimes as well but 2/3 is the sweet spot if you want lots of vrooms.

I wonder if this is doing any damage though.

2-3-4 ... so sweet . But not in auto mode. Paddles are the ****! But, I used to do this in non-dynamic in the first few days. Now, I am 100% dynamic. And it is a different story.

I don't know the point of first. I always lose traction if I start in first and do anything more than slightly tap the pedal.

On a test drive of the R Coupe, I found a rolling start before flooring it prevented wheel spin

All F-Types come with "summer extreme high performance" tires, which must heat up pretty good before they get sticky. If I recall correctly, you've made several comments on this forum that you only have a few hundred miles on your car in the 6 months or so you've owned it. It sounds like you tend to drive short trips, and you may never be getting the tires up to temp.

Even my base V6 loses traction in the first 3 gears when starting out with moderate throttle on cold tires. Once the tires are heated, they stick well, except when really hammering the throttle on launch. It's also harder to get them heated up in the cooler months. Most such tires carry recommendations not to use them in temps below 40ºF or so, but they still must heat up even when the temps are above 70ºF.

If you ever watch any racing series, you might have noticed that when drivers pit and change tires under a yellow flag, they spend a lot of time zig-zagging the car around trying to heat up cold tires prior to a green flag re-start.
