Best, Reasonably Priced Option For Catalytic Converters Replacement For My F-Type R?

My 2016 F-Type R is, somehow, in need of replacing the dual catalytic converters despite only having reached 39k miles. As I am sure you are aware, the OEM Jaguar option is hideously expensive ($6k plus labor).
So far, I am considering replacement options from and Larini. Velocity/AP. Are there any other reasonably priced options that perform well that I am overlooking? Please note, my state has no emissions testing so
even if an option doesn't meet Fed standards, its fine.
Oh, and, just in case someone asks, the extended warranty on emission system components ran out 3 weeks before my issue developed. Now THATS timing. And yes, Jaguar said they would do exactly nothing about it.![Frown](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Any experience, knowledge or recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would seriously consider the Velocity AP high-performance CATs - https://www.velocityap.com/product/j...-and-downpipe/. I also have a 2016 F-Type R and plan to go this route if my CATs start causing issues.

It is true that not everything on the internet is true or correct, I do tend to believe the following article which states clearly that cats are required in Florida to pass an annual emissions test.
Now, perhaps in Florida there is no tail pipe test. That has been replaced by ECU OBD monitoring in MA for example. Emissions testing is only going to get more stringent no matter where you live.
Also, when selecting the replacement there appear to be 2 standards - a basic "EPA" grade and a more efficient (expensive) "CARB" grade, originally required in CA but now in more general use.
Assuming you wish to sell your car at some stage, it might be worth the additional expense of fitting the CARB version, assuming JLR has not already done so.
Fitting the EPA version to a CARB car will likely cause ECU problems. Not sure whether the same applies in reverse.
Regardless of the above, it seems quite reasonable to fit an aftermarket unit that is legal, works well and sounds good without shelling out the proverbial arm and leg to JLR

I think the issue has nothing to do with "smog laws".
Most areas of the US do not have a smog problem.
There is a federal law requiring catalytic converters on all road legal cars.
The fact that emissions may not be tested in Florida does not eliminate the legal requirement to fit a cat.
It is unlikely that any cat obtained legally in the US will not be either EPA compliant or CARB compliant
Fitting the incorrect type will most likely cause problems with your ECU.
That does not mean you can not fit a "reasonably priced" non JLR unit provided it is the correct type.

Maybe some counties in Florida require a periodic inspection? I live in Palm Beach County. I have been here 8 years and there is NO state inspection for vehicles. None. All I have to do is renew the registration on an annual or semi-annual basis. All that being said, yes there are laws on the books for cats and I would not go without one even if there was not one.
For anyone who went with the 200 cell Velocity/AP cat, did you have to do any reprogramming so it did not throw codes?

Peppersam, that is a decent rate.
I am paying $930 in MA on my 2021 P380 and thought that was reasonable for the F-Type.
So, why am I reading about how expensive auto insurance is in Florida??
Still think it uncomfortable that so many do not carry any insurance, though I gather there are even worse states for this behavior.
