Looking at the proposed changes, I don't think it will keep people from speeding up alongside me to take pictures or giving me the thumbs up on the highway. It's so incremental that pretty much only the people on this forum would notice.

Should we start a petition now to bring back the manual transmission?

Sorry to disappoint manual transmission fans, no petition is going to win against tiny and shrinking even more sales figures (of manual transmission)

Indeed. Car companies exist to sell cars. If it doesn't sell they don't produce. Perhaps a petition to offer a special order option?

This article states that Euro 6.2 is for new models introduced after 2017 and all new cars registered after Sept 2018, if this is correct surely that implies V6 SC and V8 SC sold and hence registered after September 2018 are Euro 6.2 compliant ?

Euro emissions standards 1993 onwards

I don’t think it will work a second time. That’s how we got it in 2016. I sent at least a half a dozen nasty-grams to JLR.

Good enough for most folks on the AT.

Ratios on on the MT could have been a bit closer. Second gear is too tall. That wouldn’t resolve the demand, though.

+1. ZF is the only Automatic I've bought in over 10 years (and the only one when I had a choice in MUCH longer).

Adding a knee replacement for those over 55 should help some.

Left knee still strong. It’s the right knee that exploded when I refused to lay the bike down at 75 mph. Patched back up with pelvic bone and surgical Bondo.

Especially if you manage to royally mess up the clutch design for 4 iterations in a row and release your manual transmission with a slipping clutch that fails within first few thousand miles driven.

It all makes sense now. You asked for a third pedal, you forgot to specify that it should work.

Has clutch #4 failed for anyone yet?

It's a real shame that this car has this inherent frailty... I guess nothing is ever truly perfect.
Eventually I'll just choose to overlook these faults and enjoy it for what it is. And it is immensely enjoyable!

I wasn't referring to you but light heartedly to the demographic that could possibly be in a position to buy an f type.

Having personally discovered that Jaguar/Land Rover is, by far, the least responsive and attentive company I have ever encountered - counter-balanced, 180-degrees, by my outrageously fabulous dealership (Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover) I assume you never got a reply? Maybe I am wrong? All I know is I am all that more delighted to have not had a MT option in MY15. Based on your, our very own pioneer, and others experiences...maddening!

I have a probable solution from Spec Clutch sitting in inventory waiting for Gen 4 clutch to fail.

Actually, they eventually called me back and said they had turned my comments over to their product development team for consideration. Unfortunately, their solution was to repurpose some parts out of the Volvo bin.
