Default Black Soot at Exhaust Tips ? ? ?

Took delivery of a 2021 P300 with 6,000 miles on the clock in Baltimore, MD this week.

Drove it home to Florida, about 1,200 miles.

Stopped at the quarter carwash at every overnight to wash the bugs off and consistently found dry soot at the exhaust tips.

Not wet, not oily and the car has used no oil.

Normal?

Car runs fine.

Going in to the dealer next week to be checked over and have all software updated as needed.

Suggestions?

BEST !

No worries - the "price" of those wonderful exhaust tones. Pinnacle diamond shield or even a little wax will help keep it clean and make it easier to wash off.

Enjoy the new ride!

RWS,
Beautiful car! Congratulations.
My P300 exhaust outlet showed a bit of black “soot” as well. It has 17K miles on it, runs great, uses no oil.
It’s normal. No worries, just drive it and enjoy!

Completely normal. Mine makes black soot in 50 miles.
