Default Body Repair

So I have a pretty small defect on my right rear fender and I took it to the body shop and asked if it's something they can fix. They said they could but it would require painting. This is my first experience with body repair but the defect is pretty small...I hate it but what I would hate more is if they botched the paint job. The color is glacier white so it's metallic. What do you guys think? Can a good body shop make it flawless again?

That's a pretty bi g defect in my books! Looks like something has got caught under there and prised the lip outwards.


Good thing though that it appears to not have damaged the outer panel.


That could be teased back into place easily without painting (it's only ally), and you wouldn't even know it was there imo..bit of warmth, hammer and dolly, be down in half an hour!

In my experience, blending never works, painting whole panels does. But I have never had it done with white.

Depending on your experience working on cars, this is something you can do yourself without needing to paint. Would need heat gun heavy hammer or fenders roller and a roll of duct tape.

That is what it looks like when someone has installed too thick of a spacer. The tire tread caught the lip. Borrow a rolling pin from the kitchen, heat the bent area up with a heat gun without burning the paint and roll it out. Good as new. Ask me how I know.

(You never know how far you can go until you exceed the limit.)

See if you can get a good fender roller or a wooden baseball bat. If you use a bat, use the tire as leverage and gently roll the bat until the metal bends back.

remove the tire hit it back with a rubber hammer easy fix.
