Default bone stock f type r convertibe dyno

i am new to this forum and id like to introduce my car, its an f type r convertible and i got 2 months ago and its my daily car, i've fallen in love ever since with the sound, looks, and enjoyment.

so ive raced a couple of cars and ive felt that this car is understated so i wanted to know how much power its has in the wheels and i couldnt find in any of the forums an actual dyno test so i decided to dyno my car.

I did the dyno using our normal petrol in bahrain which is 91 octane and it was humid and it was 35 degrees C outside.
Okay i did the run on 6th gear and it hit the rev limiter at 6000rpm at 307kph (first time ever doing a dyno so the guy did everything) and sorry for unclear images the videos were worse

the car did 498 rwhp which is impressive but im not sure if the car is understated, is it?

anyways i did this dyno run but it wasnt fully accurate because of the limiter, i will do another one in the up coming weeks to the best dyno on the island, with proper videos and pictures.

my apologies again for the unclear picture and not the most accurate results, i hope to get better results and im looking forward to all of your comments.

anyways here are some pictures of my car if anyone is intrested in seeing it, enjoy

Seems plausible for a RWD. Typically jaguar exaggerates a bit rather than under rating their cars like BMW tends to do

i believe my car can produce more power if i did the dyno on 5th gear with better petrol and in the winters around 15 degrees, but 498whp i think is just 20 whp under the hennesy f type which is confusing me a bit

498hp on the rear wheels seems pretty good. Not shure what a "normal" loss from clutch to wheels are, but I would think it's more than 10% ?

Nice car and color combo by the way!

Neither am I, but you also have drivetrain loss through the differential and in any/all drivetrain joints.

Edit: looked for some more information regarding this topic, and it seems like "typical loss" in the drivetrain of rwd cars with automatic transmission is 15-20% on a modern car.

However the rwhp readings on different dynos can vary a lot, as they seldom (never) are accurate calibrated.

So if its 15% to 20% drivetrain loss so supposdly on this dyno my jag produces 573-597hp at the crank?

You're looking at this too literally. A dyno reading is just a rough number and varies greatly from dyno to dyno and based on ambient temperatures/conditions. We also only can guess what drivetrain loss is, so you can't just say your car makes 573 horsepower...Just because you put down 498 horsepower on one run doesn't mean the car will do that all the time or that the reading was even accurate.

Also 6th gear is a 1:1 ratio, so that is the most accurate gear to use. If you gained anything by using 5th gear it would just be a false reading.

Thanks for the post. 498rwhp sounds about right if you account for drivetrain lost, etc. That puts it around mid 550 hp, which i what Jaguar rates it at. Only true measure...take it to the drag strip and see what it runs

Thank you for that information it makes sense , hopefully will take it to dragstip in the winters and post it!

Was there an A/F reading with the pulls? Would be interesting to see where she is at and how much room for improvement there is for power just with A/F tuning.

Regards,
