Bonnet Chrome Louver Covers

Bonnet Chrome Louver Covers
Just picked these up from Mina Gallery and they look great. I like a little bling. I had installed the 'factory' chrome louver covers 5 years ago and they were a cheap plastic and the chrome film started bubbling off. The set from Mina is high quality (real chrome) and only $285. Great deal if you're looking for a little facelift.

I honestly don't know - All I know is I can't stop looking at them. Reach out to Minagallery.com and I'm sure they'll be able to answer your question. They offered 3 different 'flavors'. Chrome edge with black mesh (which is what I went with), Chrome edge with chrome mesh, and Black edge w Black mesh w only the 'Supercharged' piece chromed. I think they look amazing and a steal at $285 considering the replacement cheap OEM plastic/chrome ( w 'bubbling' feature') cost closer to $400 if memory serves...

To take off the old vents just use a flat blade screwdriver from underneath the hood/bonnet to gently pry the mounting/locking tabs open and the vents then pop off.
Just be careful with the last one or two tabs otherwise you risk the vent flying off down your hood/bonnet, don't ask me how I know this!
Pro tip - stick a few pieces of thin double sided tape on the hood/bonnet in the hollows where the vents sit (making sure they don't stick out too far as to be visible once the vents go on) to prevent any possible rattling of the vents.
To fit the new vents just carefully line up the tabs with the holes they go in and push down firmly until they "click" into place.

There is a ton of metallic and it really shows in the sun. I like it because it's almost 2 colors in 1. When the sun hits it directly it glistens like a green candy apple with breathtaking flake. When sun starts to set it is often mistaken for black and that's when you see more reflective 'shine' than 'glisten' and the chrome bits really pop.. As far as care I had the entire car wrapped in paint protective film (Xpel if memory serves) to the tune of about $4K. I've never had the car detailed or waxed. I normally use a hand spray and microfiber to keep it clean. Or I'll wash by hand if I've let it go too long. The best thing about the film is it virtually eliminates any swirl marks. Believe it or not I park the car outside (in the San Diego sun) and after almost 6 years the finish looks better than most 'unprotected' cars less than a year old. This is the first car I've ever wrapped and I was reluctant to spend that much. But over the life of the car and the money I've saved on professional detailing I will definitely do it again the next time I buy something worth protecting (no disrespect to the family minivan...)

The old ones pop on and off as Oz described but the Mina's were a little trickier to put on as they don't 'snap' in but require screws and these small rectangular supporting plates. Piece of cake for 2 people. A bit tricky by yourself if you don't have long arms to support w one hand while you screw underneath with the other hand

Thanks sov211 and Balboa. I lived in the San Diego region until I retired last year. So I know what parking in the sun, or if close to the ocean with the morning dew can do to a car. I am up in the mountains now near Palm Springs and my Jaguar will be garaged. I have an SUV for when the snow comes a few times a year and the Jaguar will be a second vehicle just for fun.
I actually like detailing my cars. My plan is to tell the dealer not to prep the car when it arrives other than the fluids or whatever but not to wax or buff the paint. Then I will clay bar it and apply some kind of hybrid ceramic wax. The car will live a pretty pampered life so I think one of the modern wax products will do the trick.
I just need to see a BRG and Santorini Black in person to make up my mind. Or than Firenze Red.......

All three of those colours are gorgeous (the Firenze Red used to be called Italian Racing Red - beautiful). The Santorini Black, of the 3 you have cited, is the least "exciting" but still, very beautiful. No chance for a mistake with any of these.
