Default Boost Gauge?

I searched and found.... Nothing. Anyone installed a boost gauge? I'm used to it from my turbo cars, maybe not as important on a supercharged engine? Any ideas on a good place to tap in to the boost line?

Been looking for a boost source since I got the car. They don't make a tap to go under the map sensor and there doesn't seem to be any lines to T into. Good luck, lemme know if you find anything. Got a water meth kit sitting here can't wait to install but no boost for the progressive controller....

Where is the MAP sensor? Regardless of its mounting method, seems like a spacer/tee fitting could be fabricated to back it away from its mounting boss and teeing off a second connection. Pics?

You wouldn't think it'd be a problem, but the map sensor is secured by only one bolt and once you add an extra half inch of height for the tap it just won't hold pressure. I had a friend cad and 3d print a tap but so far it won't hold pressure well enough. Working on a way to run a bar across from the first bolt to a second bolt on the other end, but would have to weld a nut to the top of the throttle body to run the second bolt into and it seems like a pain.

There are a couple spots. Have a look at my WMI DIY and the info is here including the wiring for the MAP and MAPT. Also some info I included here.

Good luck.

Tapping in to the voltage would be doable for a homebrew Arduino solution... Was hoping to just use a "dumb" boost pressure gauge. I think I can certainly come up with a spacer on the MAP sensor mount, though.

Unfortunately my snow kit has the progressive controller and won't work off map sensor voltage. I could swap to the old controller that will buy hate to do it. Haven't had time to read the entire diy yet but looks like a good write up!

If I read the thread right he switched to the throttle pedal position sensor. I am curious why.

I answered in your other post/thread. In short - Easier to tap, same/similar result. And does not have to be under a load to set/test like the MAP and MAPT do.

My xf has a line coming out the manifold going to the brake booster and fuel regulator that's where I get my boost from
