Default British Racing Green only at a higher price?

Seems JLR indeed pushed BRG to the exclusive list.
Was called “Racing Inspired” before but didn’t cost more than any metallic color, even though it’s “xirallic”.

The only thing they achieve is that at the end they only sell white cars and people just wrap them...
Its really incredible how they succeed at stowing freebees on the standard car that nobody wants/needs and basic choices are pushed into the "ludicrous zone".

In some markets all metallic colors are "cost free options' [ UAE ], I didn't check all national websites. Also the 770W stereo upgrade is free/standard in some
countries. In others its € 3500... And then € 1350 for 'HUD' ... "friend-from-china " sells HUD gatgets linked with the OBD2 port for € 15,- , including shipping...

They are completely at loss, JLR marketing.

Yeah, extra $500, not an extra 5 or 8k like they are asking on the ‘19.

It's also now SVO British racing green and I do not believe it will be same color that some currently have on their cars.

Seems like a lot of money unless their are extra coats of paint involved or maybe the paint is a "special" super expensive formula? Do they need to stop the paint production, clean equipment or the like and just paint the one car, yours?

Not a penny over the $4500 that you paid for it?

You paid something. It has never been a $0 option since the model launched, to my knowledge.

Haha.

On the website it’s not listed for extra either? I have the order form in front of me. $0.

Sir Wm Lyons prided himself on the fact that Jaguar was special, and still cost less than the competition. Now that ethos has been lost, and JLR just copies Porsche when it comes to equipment and pricing. I guess that is why Sir Wm was a legend and not a factotum. A few years ago, I decided the reason CEOs make so much money is that there are so few good ones.

BRG was always more, and from what I have seen in America it’s not popular amongst those who don’t know what it means. Personally I love the color, and wouldn’t own a British car unless it was BRG, wouldn’t own a 911…don’t care what Porsche does..

If you didnt pay extra on the color, you did elsewhere no question- I paid $17k below invoice with an extra 2 yr warranty- supply and demand

BRG did not add to MSRP for selecting that option when I ordered at the dealer. Go on the website, the same applies. None of the other options changed price based off my selecting BRG. I also negotiated a discount, not sure how my color selection influenced the cost?

Looking at the configurator carefully, BRG is now indeed $0 on the V8, $615 on the V6 but only available as "BRG#5" on the SVR for $4900. Very odd pricing structure. BRG#5 must have some kind of special pixie dust added.

BRG is such a nice green it is sad to see it priced the way they have it. Its a British thing for car to be green and they should have at least kept that $0. Oh Jaguar why?

In all previous years the upcharge for BRG on all models was $500. Now that price has dropped to $0 on the R. There is no guessing what they are thinking on the huge upcharge for the SVR.

I find the whole pricing policy absurd. In the Netherlands we get secure tracking for 3yrs as a free option. The 'flat-bottom' steering wheel is a € 102,- , but any metallic is.. € 1145 ..
Then the 'seatpack 2' .. € 1801,- , and the meridian 770W system is a € 3007,- option...

Now in the US metallic is free and in the UK the meridian system is standard.... WHY-OH-WHY... life is unfair..

Add to our musings the fact that BRG was originally defined as a “racing” color. And the fact that it’s supposed to be “xirallic” instead of metallic. Go (con)figure ...

Is it really still xirallic? I don't think it's been called that for awhile. In 2016 or 17, IRR was changed from xirallic to metallic and lost a little bit of its flash.

Xirallic is a trade name of Merck, so it is likely they dropped the use of that term when they changed paint vendors.
