Buying your lease - Anyone with experience?
#21
Good points all around to help others in the future.
My situation is not the same as the other in this thread.
My situation is one of the benefits of leasing (when the car is worth less than the residual, so you turn it in and walk away). However, in my case, a very rare case indeed for me, I actually want to buy it. In order to do that, I would have to pay the residual which happens to be more than market value.
If I was turning it in, I'd be happy. Since I want to buy it, not so much. Thus, I was wondering if the there was any room to negotiate with the banks. They don't necessarily want to be stuck with a car that's upside down either, so was hoping they'd be eager to negotiate and "sell" it to me easier at the end than get stuck with it and deal with having to sell it anyway.
Looks like that's probably not possible with Chase/Jaguar from everything I'm reading here and elsewhere.
Side note: I do often browse the Lease Hackr forum. Lots of good info there on available deals or deals that are possible to attain.
