c d changer
#3
It's a "logical" CD Changer, meaning you insert a CD and the car loads the content onto an internal drive. You then load another CD and repeat the process. It's a little clumsy because it takes several minutes for each disc to load and the car has to be running (or at least powered on). If you stop, it will resume on your next outing. As I recall, the system will automatically load up in sequence (disc 1, disc 2, etc). After it's loaded, you can individually delete a CD and load a replacement into the same logical slot. It's a bit of a pain if you want to rearrange the order. Meanwhile, if you have a disc you only want to play for now (and not load onto the car's drive), you can just play it in the CD slot.
I've loaded my "changer" with a core group of favorites that I don't tend to change. Generally, they're "best of" sets I've created across multiple albums. The car is happy to load from burned CD's, but not MP3's. For greater capacity/variety, I loaded up a USB stick with a whole library of music. The USB DOES work with MP3's. You can simply dump a whole bunch of songs - or, you can organize things a bit by creating folders and copying the songs into them. So, you can have a folder dedicated to Pink Floyd, etc. If you also want to have, say, a "Classic Rock" collection, you can copy any song, including duplicates from individual group collections, into that folder. You can then chose the USB as the source, pick the folder of your choice, and let to play through, or random.
