C63 w204 vs F-type V6 S
#21
There is no discounting the disappointment experienced by those not satisfied with the sound system, but I have to agree on all else that the track record for the F-Type is fairly good. Even the poorly designed MT clutch was resolved within the first 6 mos. of production at no cost to anyone but Jag. Other major issues appear to be one-offs and not prevalent.

I had more service visits in the first 6 months with my Benz than I've had in 2 years with the F-Type.
Overall, if you need the space and want a performance sleeper, get the Benz.
It's a good drive and once or twice a year, you'll get a knowing nod from MB buffs.
Otherwise, get a Jag for the sheer joy of it. It's fun; it shows; and it will be noticed. (With the Jag, you'll get one or two comments running errands on Saturday morning.)
Check out the Bystanders Reaction thread here, then try to find a counterpart for the Benz.
Good luck, whichever way you choose.

I have driven both the C63 and the F-type and I love them both. I originally wanted the C63 for its extra seatings but after driven the F-type, my mind changed. The F-type gives you that almost supercar feeling and the monthly payment Mercedes was asking for the C63 was ridiculous.
I just got my 2016 V6S AWD about 3 weeks ago and I just made a 2nd appointment to bring it in for minor problems, (ticking sound behind passenger rear seat, fuel stopping every 3 seconds).
Besides those things, the F-type is absolutely fun to drive and I just cannot stop looking at it, and so does everybody else... the attention you get is ridiculous. Every time I am on the road, especially on the freeway, people always pull up besides me, kind of weird. I don't get that attention driving the C63...
In my opinion, the C63 has a better build quality but the F-type wins overall.

I agree; my brother rented the F-type - that's when it made me consider it as a serious contender over the C63 despite only having 2 seats. The car is boatloads of fun and brings out the child in you.
But the w204 C63 has a lot of negatives as well:
Poor fuel economy [15 combined MPG]
Eats up rear tires [need to be changed every 6-10K]
Suffers from rattles as does any car
Looks boring unless it's a 507 or Black Series
Laggy shifts
