Default Caliper Covers

Does anyone know if the MGP® - Jaguar F-Type 2016 Caliper Covers with Jaguar / Leaper Logo Engraving will clear the back of the wheel?
Thank you

I would worry about what might happen to the finish on the back of the wheels.

But I'm questing it's possible to pry these things off without having to take the wheel off too, and then wipe off any remaining adhesive using a cotton rag soaked in gas.

I guess I'm more concerned that the "description " says that 3mm spacers may be required and how that might affect performance of the wheel itself.

Here is my unsolicited advice: forget the caliper covers. I had some on my Vette and they look cheap; they would look even cheaper on the F-Type. I removed mine and painted the calipers...much better.

+1. They look pretty tacky and you can tell what they are from a very long distance.

I have a different take.

I have them on my car.

They don't look "tacky", they actually don't look good or bad. They look rather neutral in my opinion and they fit just fine.

The reason I added them is not to turn my red callers red, or make my big calipers big yet again, but the very real issue of brake dust. They catch 95% of the brake dust into the back of the cover. My wheels stay clean for 3 weeks and are ready to go with a simple power wash rinse with no bending over and scrubbing. I wouldn't base my decision a bit on "how they look", which would be equivalent to how wheel locks, dash covers, phone mounts or clear bras look, but rather on "how much you hate to scrub" dust off your wheels on a regular basis. Because "you can tell what they are from a long distance" I feel misses the point if the purpose is functional. If your objective is to turn your calipers red, then by all means paint them but remember, especially with Tornados, it's a real bitch to get in between the spokes to keep them clean. I found myself actually moving the car a few inches during a wash to get to another area of the caliper to scrub. No fun. I say all this owning black wheels! If my wheels were any other color, the hassle would be that much greater. Black is as easy as it gets re: dust. Again, brake dust alone make this temporary add-on worth every penny to me, and I'm a guy who overly pays attention to aesthetics. If they were truly ugly, I, for sure would bite the wheel washing bullet. You know what's ugly? Winter wheels are ugly but they are a necessary evil. Let's assume wheel covers look a bit worse than raw calipers. Are they worth using? Only you can decide based on priority.

I think these get a bad rap because back in the day, they had these tacky "Brembo big brake covers" whose purpose was to trick people into thinking you actually had Brembos. This is an entirely different application and purpose. I have an R with big brakes already. Not trying to trick anyone.

The decision is yours to make now that you have the data.

Great info. Thank you. How are they put on? Also, did you need to use the 3mm spacers?

They easily clip on the caliper. Took about 45 mins for all four. Mount - dismount wheels.

Now, I do have 17mm spacers on all my wheels currently but had these installed prior to the spacers. Wheel types vary. If you get a light touch against the back of the spoke, you can always Dremel away a bit of the metal on the cover but I don't think they'll touch.
