Default Calling shops and...correction

Would you take your beloved Jag to a repair shop that incorrectly corrects YOU for calling YOUR car a JagUR vs Jagwire?

Depends on how easily you're offended. I judge my mechanics on their mechanical skills.

Well that was the first strike, the second was I am replacing the coolant pipes with upgraded aluminum pipes and they would not do it...and would only replace with plastic factory pipes. As an aside the mechanic is not who I was talking to, it was the shop "service writer". Finding a shop that knows about Jagwire is hard enough IMO, knowing how to say the word and correcting a customer IMO prevents any vetting of the actual person with a wrench.

Of course I have worked in many shops, in the past...and from what I have seen a qualified mechanic won't tolerate BS from the company he or she works at.

Yea I did as I definitely don't want plastic replacing plastic, especially when there is a better replacement.

I would imagine our Porsche compatriots experience this shocking, outrageous, and heinous debasing of a famous marque with more frequency than we do.

Hopefully, that should console you

I can't recall any reputable indy shop that has had a service writer. I mean there are usually a few older guys who have the most experience that will talk with you about services. It's also possible that they didn't want to do the work and that was a way to get out of it.

Since you use to work in shops can you DIY the repairs?
Much cheaper if you can.

My independent jag mechanic is very knowledgeable about the issues and potential issues with my 2011 XK...Priced reasonably and invaluable for any owner. If he wants to call it a Jagwire, I'm ok wit dat.
