Default Can you still order a New 2017?

I have an amazing 2017 S AWD Convertible.

I love the car so much I might be moving to a R. I was 2 seconds from pulling the trigger on a Corvette Z06 but after sleeping on it I decided to stick with the FType (Joint decision with the Mrs!)

I can't find a R for sale locally and in the specs I want and I've never ordered a car so I would love to order one with the specs I want.

Would I be able to order a 2017 still or is it too late??

I can't decide on coupe vs. convertible or color or wheels or interior lol but All I know is I want an R!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat, I placed an order for 2017 F Type R BLACKBERRY color, and the dealer has put it in the system, but there is no confirmation yet from the factory and its been 3 weeks already. I am also wondering if the car will still be built as per 2017 specs that I ordered, or they will be coming back to me and asking to upgrade the specs to 2018 model, because I don't see the same color availability for 2018 models.

The factory is in UK and they have upgraded the UK website and other European website to 2018 F Type already.

Around this time last year I was unable to get a 2016 allocation and had to wait for a 2017.

Default S series versus R series

Guys, I read some recent posts about members comments regarding the car they own which is the two tail pipes located in the middle. A couple of guys stated other people made some type of remark or comment that that version car is a girlee type of car more suited for a female. I was very surprised to read this because the car's body is exactly the same as a R series car. Do guys make that kind of determination based on the number of exhaust tips showing from the rear end? Really .... ?!?!?!?!!!

just go on jaguar UK website, or see other websites like germany or something. They are not even listing 2017 model in uk/europe anymore, I checked with my dealer, and he said they have to still honour me the 2017 pricing and discount, as the order was placed with the factory before 2018 was launched, or they have to send me what i ordered. It's win win in both situations, also they said it happened with F PACE buyers too.....they all got upgraded models

just came across this wording on usa website under special offers for f type;\

2016 Jaguar F-TYPE - Lease & Financing Offers | Jaguar USA

"""""""
For special lease terms and customer credit offer, take new vehicle delivery from retailer stock by 2/28/17""""""

this clearly states that Jaguar is not producing anymore 2017, and are offering special promos on 2017 models that are parked at the dealers,,,, "retailer stock". So basically you have to stick with 2018 model now and wait till march 2017 to place your order.

This definitely will add delay to my plans as well, as i won't get it until june now

Default I don't get it ...

That's why I posted the question, why would members here say others made fun of the S version. I read it and scratched my head. One guess, jealousy .

I don't recall that it was forum members making negative comments about the S. I certainly wouldn't about our fellow S owners. All ftype S owners should be treated with respect (future 4 bangers not withstanding).

I would seriously be tempted by a 1.5 liter turbo-4 similar to the likes of a BMW M12 or M13 engine. At 60 psi of boost it would generate close to 1500 HP. Aren't the rumors that BMW will be building the 4 banger for Jag?

I doubt that JLR will be getting BMW to build their 4 bangers, considering the new multi billion pound JLR Ingenium engine plant at Wolverhampton, see this article: Jaguar Land Rover: behind the doors of its Wolverhampton engine plant | Autocar
