Q&C,
Thanks for the clips. An MT 2 door would be just the ticket. (Regardless of category, that’s the only configuration of vehicle I’ve ever owned).

Thank You. You know you were indirectly helping a kindred spirit make a difficult decision. Including the one on 2 doors.

The only reason to get more than 2 doors is if you have to haul a bunch of Sherpa guides along.

That's like getting a tattoo, lifelong decision on a momentary need.

Only thing worse is getting a temporary wrap that cost more than paint.

@mikelr Colour isn't my personal cup of tea, But I think you've done quite the noble job.
Well done!
My current dilemma is Polish? Coat? Respray? Wrap? I just can't decide. There is a certain elegance to original paint, which complicates the situation for me.

Q&C,
Sooo...answer me this: why is the 2 door $15k more expensive than the 4 door ($65k vs $50k)?
Unfortunately, only available with the 8sp auto.

Why does it all look so familiar in that video...

Because the new defender, certainly in that colour, is the spitting image of my old D3... ... and the landscape is very much the inland parts of the Algarve...

The 2 door is an enthusiast's car, they know they can get a little more for that enthusiasm. They are calling it First Edition pricing.

I had the defender 90 and the 110. Got more money for them then I paid. Interestingly, the dealers would hound me, beg me to buy the car. They use it to attract buyers to the lot- that's what the new Defender will be for JLR so they dont care about initial pricing- they made their big splash by announcing it will be under $50k. They will do it again when economy tanks.

Manual 1 year out me thinks. When they release the commercial version. They cant do without it.
Having an inline-6 and not MT would be perverse. Unless their various drive-by-wire features depend on AT. For instance- if you want to get through a bog, you cant ask the car to take you out and take your feet of the pedals. Watch this monkey do it. Its at 4:00 minute mark.

This review explains that JLR has allowed the car a very generous limp home mode for when a module were to fail in the middle of nowhere.

An AT just doesn’t make sense when you are out in the muck and mire. With the MT you can rock the vehicle out of situations that would just burn up an AT.

Dan in the long run we will all hit a brick wall. Even Bill Cosby was stoppable. What we need in between a narrative that makes us believe we are unstoppable - feel like when Bill was America's dad.

(ok, if he survives covid19 in prison, he was truly unstoppable)

Default back to the issue the wrap and the yellow lights (in defense of)

Love the color and the yellow lights, been looking to do that to my S, this is my 5th Jag and all have had the yellow lights somehow, whether in the bulbs or in the lens, gives you the prototype, euro sports, Sebring, Le Mans, etc. look, its a keeper for me, only the yellow trim is off. Great work.
Any words on how to do the yellow lights yourself, did you use pre-cut or a piece you cut and formed as you were applying it?

Yellow tint on headlights was a Vvivid vinyl product that comes in a kit, not pre-cut, I think the pieces were 12"x24"

I like it better without the yellow. That color is really nice. I think you have to change your signature now though...

I'm thinking the same thing with my 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. Similar colour in Kent Green.

Beautiful color choice and looks every bit like a professional did it. Can you share links or info to this wrap and tools you used, instructional vids and tips you consulted, etc.?

Also what wheels are those? Itching to do something different to my black R, but a $6K+ quote to wrap it (NJ premium lol) gives me pause...
