Default In case someone misses me...

Just in case anyone notices I am missing...

I'm headed out on a TX to PA (with a stop for a day at the TN/NC border.)

http://tailofthedragon.com/

My son and I are very much looking forward to our 2 week vacation and the road trip in the F-Type. (I think he's excited that he's going to get to drive for a bit!)

We'll be headed back to my mothers (who is old school and doesn't even have dedicated internet) so... I'll probably be MIA for a bit, although as addicted as I am to the internet, I'll probably check in from my phone (coverage permitting) every now and again.

Oh, if I'm not missed or things are quiet without me... Tough crap, I'll be back! (I'll try to post some pictures of the trip as well.)

Happy 4th of July to everyone!

How can we miss you when you won't go away......

Have a good trip and watch out for the PA cops.

I'm leaving in the morning. LOL...

I'm more worried about the Virginia cops. Radar detectors are even illegal there. I HAVE to remember to put mine away. They even impound cars and levy hefty fines if they find you operating one in that communist state.

That's not the case. It's just a citation, but I don't think hardly anyone gets busted for that any more. They're really not looking for them as they were 20-30 years ago.

The speed limit is 70mph on interstates outside of major metropolitan areas, and virtually no one gets pulled over unless going over 80 mph.

Well that's great news. (It's probably been 15 years since I drove through Virginia last.)

Your timing is about right that you could catch the Carolina Jaguar Club concours in Little Switzerland (near Asheville), July 16-19, on your way back. Have a good trip!

Update number 1... 50 miles from home, Mr. State trooper must have decided he wanted to see the car. Pulled me over for 81 in a 75... Radar detector went off as soon as we crested the hill... damn instant on with nobody else on the road.

Checked my license and insurance, didn't bother with no front plate, told me "Nice car, I'm giving you a warning today. Have a safe trip..."

Did the trooper have a partner? Why is his passenger side door open?

Close call, only 50 miles out too, take it easy with plenty still to go.
Be sure to post up some pics from your road trip when you can

At the hotel for the night... Great day, I will log in my trips from the In Control Apps and check stats. The F Type was the center of attraction every gas station and breakfast, lunch, and dinner stop...

All day long tomorrow on The Dragon.

800 plus miles today, average moving speed of 70 mph, had some 35 through construction zones and some triple digits. Averaged 29.2 mpg! Saw an Enzo as we were pulling into the hotel. Hope to see him on the Dragon tomorrow.

Nice. I drove 870 miles, MA to MI on Friday, and there were ZERO cops in MA, NY and Canada, and only 1 in VT. Never seen that before. Averaged a bit over 27MPG for the whole drive.

Some sights from the TN mountains...

Excellent day driving The Dragon. My son (17) even dusted an STI around the dragon. Some turns are listed as 10 mph... We took them around 35 and the car had plent more to give.

I have a lot more photos on the camera I will post later. The car is amazing.
