Default Cashmere Gold

In digging around for P7 VINs, I may have identified the rarest F-Type of all: a Cashmere Gold P7. I didn't realize they were taking special paint orders.

No, I was just combing through the Topix VIN verifier and came across it. The P7s are mostly BRG, some white, a couple blue and this one Cashmere Gold available as a standard color on the XFs.

Certain members of certain "royal families" in various countries can have a vehicle factory-painted in any color they want. Some of those cars are never seen and likely pushed into the Persian Gulf when they get bored with them.

Yes, you can get bespoke paint jobs done. This guys had his callipers, front grill surround, mirrors and rear spoiler changers at factory to an orange, which I must say, looks great with the BRG.

That guy is Harry Metcalfe and he MAY have been able to get things that the rest of us can't. From his profile;

Launched evo magazine back in 1998. Left in September 2013 when the opportunity to help create a new halo division at Jaguar Land Rover presented itself.

Helped launch JLR Special Operations in June 2014, which is the new Halo division for Jaguar Land Rover responsible for JLR Heritage, JLR Bespoke, JLR brand extensions and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).

Launched a new YouTube video channel in October 2014 titled 'Harry's Garage' which centres around doing self-vids of interesting cars, many of which are from my own collection.

Cheers,
Dave

+1. If I remember correctly, he received the first P7 off the production line.

I hear SVO are adding another 250 People in Ryton, just outside Coventry, so they must be keeping busy.

Nice video. Now to get those suspension parts. I'd also like to know how they mounted the shoulder harness.

You already have the info you need to get those parts. It's the same drill as with the nose pieces.

I was wondering if that was true. Thank you for the confirmation.

What parts are you looking for? Maybe Cambo can help us with the part numbers.

Front knuckle support for added caster and camber, sway bars, maybe the dampener with the progressive spring and top mount. Also how to attach the harness. I would like a five point or at least four point harness. Basically I'd like to have the benefits of the P7 suspension. Unless of course the SVR has the better of the two. I haven't seen where that the SVR is any different than the standard F-Type.
I also need to keep in mind that my car is AWD so some of these may not work for my application. Now that I have a source I more I can research. Plenty of down time here in Egypt to do that.

For quiet good taste (as my dad likes to say), how about Chrome Gold?
