It's just a base '14 but the black top, interior and black wheels seem to be calling out for more....what do you think?
Like Shaun, I'm not a big fan of black wheels but if this was mine and I had to sell it without putting a lot of $ into it while appealing to the widest market, I'd go with the black side vents, and I'd also think about the subtler approach of front-to-back pinstripes along the fender creases. I really liked the look it gave to Zee's car, adding a little more definition between the horizontal and vertical body shapes, and it could be nice way to break up impact of the Firesand paint, which is a bit of an eye-full. Maybe a medium grey or perhaps a twin gray and, say, off-white line (some of the best pin-striping I've seen are colors you'd never think would work with the base color, but somehow it does). Anyway, a good pinstripe artist would probably know what will work.

I think you're on to something here....I saw Zee's car and it looked great...wish I had taken photos....I'll reach out to him for that. And I like the two-tone idea as long as it's subtle....

Like jumbo shrimp, there are few oxymoron's as apropos as F-Type and subtle...although I know exactly what you mean Mike.
If I were going to stripe, I'd go with the asymmetrical and two width stripe like zmoothg's photo. I'd tone the stripe color down and even consider a matt color. The center dual stripe is more American muscle to my eye.
IMHO the only color that a stripe looks good on is white. The white f-type with green really pops, the red stripe is not so bad either. And I am not a stripe fan. I prefer solid colors with maybe a subtle pinstripe.
I know this thread is a little old, but I just took this stray cat in today and feel it needs something...searched the web for ideas but thought I would put it out to the tasteful people on The Forum for your thoughts. It's just a base '14 but the black top, interior and black wheels seem to be calling out for more....what do you think? (Pics would be helpful)
I'd do black side vents and then put a 1/4" body color strip on the edge of the rims and call it good.
Nice looking car.
I love the white with racing green stripes. But orange is a really difficult color to stripe. I've seen white, black, silver, and grey. I would go for a gunmetal grey. My Elise is orange.
Just found this thread and I definitely think the stripes kick it up a notch or 2. It's all about persona, and what people envision for their car. Some like Cool, and Classy, some like Bad Assed, and in your Face!
I test drove this pre-owned beauty a couple of months ago when I was in the market. The owner had spent something like $20K on aftermarket mods. Red and black diamond stitching on the interior including seats, door panels and wall-to-wall floor mats. Exterior had tons of carbon fiber, he replaced the exhaust and obviously changed the factory stance. It was beautiful, but a little too much 'in your face' for me, so I passed.
However, had I bought it, one of the first things I would have done is to remove the racing stripe. IMHO, there are very few cars that are enhanced by such an embellishment. Just my opinion.
I have just cut a set of stripes like this for my car in Matte black. Will apply them over the winter and see if I like them. I also cut the prowler for the rear quarter panels
