Well do you know about the extended Jaguar O2 warranty? This is separate and beyond the federal mandated emissions warranty. You might get the O2 sensors done for free too? Your car is in the right year range. See attached.

One thing to keep in mind about the free O2 sensors is that the dealer may apply an updated tune so the sensors don’t fail as fast…ie, less pops and bangs. Just FYI.

Thank you for that information. I was gong ot offer to pay for the O2 sensors if they weren't going to change them when they do the cats, but I've had jaguars for over 20 years now and done plenty of work myself, but I also don't feel bad about coming out ahead now and again.

And I have heard about updated sofware calming down the cracks and pops to make the emissions system last longer. I have gone back and forth on that... I mean I kind of like it that it is that raw and powerful sounding. I've always run vehicles with decent sounding exhaust, modifiying many of them to sound better. But that being said, none have been as loud as this SVR, so if they did tame the exhaust note a little bit, I don't think that would be the end of the world for me. I plan on keeping this car, so less chance of having to replace the cats agian in 40K miles is a win in my book. If it was brand new and still under warranty for a few years, I wouldn't let them touch the software though.
