Default CD/DVD

Appears that my 2018 F-Type does not have a CD/DVD player. What option does everyone use to play CDs or DVDs?

...is where the CD drive is. But ripping your library to a short USB stick is a good solution. Or Bluetooth from your phone.

Yep, I usually just use the bluetooth feature and access my smart phone for music, but I don't have any videos loaded onto that device. Guess I could do that or load DVDs on a thumb drive, but not having a DVD player seems a step backward in technologic time (rather like geologic time only much much much quicker).

"Even though many modern vehicles now have screens implanted in the dash and center console, they are restricted from showing video. That’s because most state governments, and even international governments have made it illegal for any driver facing screen to play distracting media." Google it!

Thanks, I knew that, but the DVD can be watched with the vehicle at rest From page 146 of the F-Type Owner's Handbook: "When the vehicle is moving, the video picture is automatically inhibited. A relevant safety message is displayed on the touch screen."
I Googled it!

Years ago, my kids asked what's that funny looking hole in the dash, behind the screen, in my old BMW 7 series is.
I replied that's for the cassette tape...

I'm still trying to figure out how to hook up my 8-track so that it plays through my Meridian.

My wife and I have been slowly watching one of the newer Batman movies this way... it's an awesome sound system to watch a movie with, too bad there isn't a screen to match! Well, and the turning off every 15 minutes thing is kind of annoying...

Are you watching a DVD or thumb drive or smart phone or what?

Evidently, this is the trend. My 2017 Volt doesn't have a CD/MP3/DVD drive either. However, it does have two USB inputs.

The MY18 F-Types no longer have CD/DVD units installed or available as an option - even though the slot is still in the center console box but it's plugged...

Thanks for the confirmation. I was beginning to question my eye sight, or worse.
Maybe you can solve this conundrum as well: The Order Details sheet for my car lists this entry: "A50D L.H. Steering AWD", but I did think my model came with All Wheel Drive. Which is it?

I believe that "A50D" is the configuration code and "L.H. Steering AWD" denotes left hand steering wheel with all wheel drive. So yes, you should have AWD...
