im 99% sure it just an injector. same codes roughly. Tow it to Springfield MA and we can do this repair in a few hrs. only other suspect is HP pumps or the high rail sensor (unlikely)....i have a few of each to test. but at this point it looks like an injector sticking open.

I agree with Itismejoshy having been through this twice before with my 5.0L XKR. Same symptoms, same codes, same outcome--bad fuel injectors. A couple of hours, and your cat will be good as new.

Try some BG 44k in the gas tank first. That’s permanently resolved stuck injectors on two of my other cars. (With very occasional reapplication, of course). On the F-Type, I treat the gas at every annual inspection.

If you do need to buy new injectors I’d recommend you buy the Bosch/ Landrover ones. The Jaguar ones are 4x the cost.

If they are the same as on my XJ, part number LR079542 worked for me.

Thanks. Gonna try this. How many bottles should I use? Maybe see what happens with one first? Then another?

Yes. Throw a full can into a 1/2-3/4 tank of fuel and use up the tank. If you see any improvement, try another can.

Was injectors, unfortunately was both banks so it needed all 8, this happened at 30k miles on the clock. BUUT the good news: Its back to running like a cat should. I love white F-type coupes and this one is beautiful. Dremorg's a lucky guy!

This forum is really lucky to have such knowledgeable members. It's like no other car forum I've ever used.

Dremorg, Thanks! Enjoyed spending some time with what I would consider the perfect F-type. You got a good one, your motor is smooth as glass. Keep in touch! 🍻

Just for record keeping, my S experienced the same situation a few weeks back with 34K miles. Same white smoke, fuel smell out the exhaust. I did put in BG44 about 4000miles ago. Cylinder 1 injector stuck open. R&R under warrantee.

I didn’t realize how prevalent this issue was. Glad you it was diagnosed quickly.
