Besides proclip has anyone found a good phone mounting system for the F type? I don't really like the location that the proclip was placed on the install photo. I'd rather it be clipped on the grab bar facing toward driver's position.
I like the iMagnet the best. Solid suction, no adhesive, up where you can see it without diverting eyesight from the road. Also, instant attachment and detachment of phone (no fussing with clips or clamps).
There's about a 20-30 page thread in this F-Type section of the forum somewhere with pictures covering just about every phone holder on the planet. :-)
I'm sure a search on "phone holder" would locate it quickly.
with the iPhone for Small to Medium Case with Cable Attachment (514666)
PERFECT solution for me. The position is spot on, its easy to see, reach and remove. This is almost my exact line of sight, so it gives you a feel for what it blocks. Also, I'm 5'7" so no knee problem at all (finally, an advantage to being short). USB cord powers it and feeds my Meridian. Waze gives me the scoop. Love it. Will be replacing the white cord for black. :-)
I also went with the pro clip, but haven't gotten a chance to install it as of yet. I'm planning on doing that this weekend. I'm like you 5'7" so don't think I would have an issue with hitting the holder. Hope mine turns out exactly as yours did.
Since my bluetooth only works without dropping out while my iPhone6 is in the cupholder I just leave it in there.
This setup uses the USB cord, so music is streamed without hiccup. I can see the moving map, change music, etc. And I hate taking on a cell using speaker and Blue tooth anyway, so when a call comes in, I simply pick it up out of the cradle. Perfect solution for me.
That would (could) get you a nice ticket in California
Same in MD and DC. It's a "primary offense" meaning it allows a LEO to stop and cite you just for holding the device, even if you were obeying all other traffic laws.

Recommended on this forum (multiple times). Phone up in my line of sight above the wheel/main screen. Every car in the family now has a Scosche mount and every driver in my family has the magnetic plate on the back of their phones.

+1. I've purchased about 5-6 of these things now, and Scosche is the best, smallest, and least obtrusive. Anything not same line of site as the road ahead is not optimal, and it's better in that regard than the factory center screen.
I have the iMagnet and like it too, but it's much bigger, and I use it in a larger vehicle.
Late to the party, but going the Scoche mount also. Only one that makes sense.
I don't want to be looking down and take my eyes off the road (or near). I take it a 6' black USB cord will be plenty to get to/from the outlet.
A mobile app like Waze is a must have since the Nav is as bad as my CTS-V was, maybe worse.

Next up will be a Dash Cam.
Burt, 6' is not enough. 2 meters is perfect, but it has to be a real 2 meters, not a 6' masquerading as a 2 meter. I originally had a cheap 2 meter cord which wore out fast. The only quality replacement I found was a 6' cord that needed a 1' extension to reach.
