They're metal too, same as the light hex on our cars, just darker...and they look closer to CF.Plus with my Black Pack, they'll accent my interior even better.

Standard R model trim...

Got it . . . thought they were plastic treated to look like CF.

I asked my dealer if he could get close to the list price there and he said that on March 1st all prices went up for CF parts so the best he could do was $800, I believe list from Jaguar is something like $1,100. I rather have him install it then me save $50 and break one of the pieces as Jaguars CF is very thin and briddel. I have a new $3,000 front splitter for my XKR-S laying at home for when the crack in mine finally goes through and the pieces fall off.

I got the same story about the price. I ordered it at $750, then they told me Jaguar raised the price to $1,100 and they gave it to me for $800.

In MY15 there was a choice of a few different console trims at the time of ordering. If you did not specify... the base came standard with light hex, the "s" with dark hex. If you have the interior black pack you get black. The "r" comes standard with a CF looking piece (but not real). If you have the black pack you get black.

I think in the V6 you still can pick the finisher despite having black pack, in the V8s there is no choice for a finisher, at least not in this year's configurator.

Does anyone have a video, instructions or experience to share in changing the 3 center console trim pieces to the CF? I've seen the tabs on the back of the CF pieces and they look like a pretty easy swap but I don't know what I don't know. I want to be sure not to damage the OEM pieces in case I want to go back to them.

Rockminster, this thread might help a little:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...+fiber+console

I installed the CF console on my '15 myself. It was very easy to do by masking off the areas around the console, then using a thin trim removal tool to pry the console pieces up. The lighter and starter button unplug and twist out, then back into the new piece. The new pieces just snap right in. Whole process takes about 15 mins.
