Default To chrome or not to chrome?

Hello everyone with an option here!
Yesterday, while sleep deprived and working the overnight shift I was bored and found comfort in EBay Lol. I purchased the Jag accessories chrome side mirror caps from Europe EBay, and now looking for a deal on the bonnet Louvers in chrome T2R5277LML and T2R5267LML to finish the look of my IRR 15’ R.
So, tonight I think the wheels need to be chrome as well.... my thought is to have my OEM wheels PVD coated in chrome by my local powder coater. Approx cost 600.00 bucks or buy another set of OEM wheels and have them in real chrome finish. here is two pics my car and another off a web search showing a red vert with chrome wheels.

My 15’ R

Im over the black pack, black wheel thing already, I mean I saw three blacked out F’s at the local Starbucks yesterday morning.
Now if my car had chrome wheels “Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part” Memphis Raines.

Now time for your thoughts !

Keep in mind that chromed wheels cannot be easily repaired if you damage it.

That is why I’m leaning towards the powder coat PVD chrome, it can be stripped and re-applied if a wheel needs repair.

But Jaguars are classy and understated (F-Type exhaust notwithstanding!) so don't need bling.

Nothing more classy than a 60 Caddie El Dorado Vert. .
Back to the Op as not to hijack his thread. I think the chrome would look good. Plus you would have something a little different. You now the old saying in the custom car world. "Time after time i'll make it mine"

I think chrome looks best if decent. The OEM design wheels is quite "heavy" and I think it is too much. Maybe with thin spokes fine, but not that amount of mass.

As with black wheels, chrome is a personal taste.

My wife's other vehicle already has chrome wheels, so she doesn't want another one with chrome wheels.

I've been eyeing the wheels in the 2nd OP photo myself. ADV.1 5.2 CS. I like how those are spec'd with the polished barrels and spokes w/ chrome windows and hardware, but they're like $2K per wheel which is outrageous. They definitely work on the F-Type.

Speaking of chrome, over the weekend I replaced the original painted mirror covers on my coupe for chrome and I think it looks amazing. Sort of has a BMW Z8 or old E-Type vibe now. It’s just enough.

I have the chrome louvres and I wouldn't have the chrome mirror caps ! And there is someone with chrome mirror caps,
who doesn't want chrome louvres for the same reason : too much chrome is ugly. Its not a "bling bling" type of car
like a cadillac...

Probably a drugsdealer with too much money, his/her partner or a pimp / hooker..
Taken in Amsterdam ?

Original colour was white.. ..someone who dislikes 'whites' , could also be a reason,
or come into the equation as well..

Poor taste requires no more money than good taste. Lots of folks on this sub-forum have popped for complete wraps.

Just as an aside, one of my business partners had big chrome wheels on his car and it kept getting flat tyres, and in about 3 a year. The tyre guys told him it is a common issue with chrome wheels, something about corrosion.

I was trying to get at the fact that the gold wrap costs no more than the clear wrap. Hence, the pimp didn’t need to have too much money to have poor taste. OK... not much value in my last 2 posts.

Ben Kingsley drove a gold F Type in "Collide". Looked dreadful. The movie was pretty good though, heaps of Jags in it
