Default cold weather and low tire pressure

For those that are experiencing the low tire pressure warning with the cold weather, how do you react with adding more air to your tires? Is there a certain threshold you prefer before adding air? or what? Mine went down to 31-32PSI but then jumped higher the next day when it was warmer and the warning went away. I've been more laid back with previous cars and just let it ride, but naturally more anxious with the not so cheap ftype.

I had a one-time anomoly: wife and I were in Quebec Canada at the end of September, a very cold morning at start-up the tire pressure system tripped the alarm light, ALL 4 tires were low (same reading: 30 PSI). They looked OK, I drove 10-15 minutes to warm everything up, stopped to check and on restart all was OK. I think it was a software glitch and the car didn't correct for cold ambient temp at the start.
I carry a good manual gauge now.

If the low pressure alert flashes, pump up the tires. check your tire pressures once per week to make certain that the pressure fluctuations are even among all 4 tires. Get compulsive about precise tire pressures if you are contemplating some seriously aggressive driving.

Given that I've experienced a temperature variation of over 45C on two visits to DFW, I would expect your location to show the greatest benefit of this.

Any observations you would care to share?

PS. Dry air will make a bigger difference than N vs. N4:O21 (plus trace elements) mix...

My tire pressures have not varied by more than 3 pounds from winter temps of 35 through summer temps of 110...

It isn't a glitch nor should the car correct for variations in ambient temp. If the tires were below minimum pressure, they were below minimum.

Only one of our cars displayed a low pressure warning during the recent cold snap. It's also the only one that has nitrogen fill........
