Cold weather storage - Tahoe Winters
I know it’s summer everywhere except the friends in the Southern Hemisphere.
I am thinking of moving to Lake Tahoe in the fall, the car will be parked in the garage. But the garage can get in the teens, especially with multiple feet of snow piled outside.
What do I need to do to properly store her in those cold months?

Hmmm, the varmint comment reminded me of a tip given to me by my Jaguar technician. Some of you may know of the temptation that Jaguar wire coatings are to mice. It did happen to me on my XK8, and the tactic ever since has been to put a half-bar of Irish Spring body soap in two locations of my engine compartment. Have done so with both my current Jaguars.

It doesn't seem to be wiring, but a cozy place to nest.

On the mouse issue, I just put 2 trays of mouse/rat poison under the car...one under the engine, one near/under the rear differential. Never had a problem yet. Go to a carpet remnants store, get 4 pieces, one for under each tire...prevents flat spotting, which is only annoying at start up after storage. Oil change, full fuel tank (stabilizer not necessary if stored under 6 months, plastic/composition fuel tank) and car cover, for sure. And if you’re really **** like me, block up the windshield wipers off the windshield....the wiper blades won’t take a set that way. Battery Tender a must have, as well. Finally, pray for early and pleasant Spring.

yep, I boost tire pressure, as well. Today’s tire construction really doesn’t flat spot like tires did 20+ years ago. For me, it’s just a carry over reaction from years gone by, I hate to have my baby’s feet get cold on a cold garage concrete floor. The last time I picked up a set of 4, the cost was under $10 and it just felt better to me, but likely not necessary.

Thank you everyone for the bits of advice! I think I will do much of what was posted in #4 but instead of having E10 petrol, use real gas...I store a boat there now, and use StaBil but the boat was only $10k. This is my passion, and the boat will more than likely be sold after 10years of enjoyment. Must be an age thing
