Colour Question
Hi all,
Ive been lurking for a while and trying to gain as much info as I can about these beautiful cars. I'm about to take the plunge and buy an F type, its not my first Jag as Ive had two XFS and still have the second one.
My question is how many shades of Red did they produce? Ive been looking through the picture thread and I've seen a dark red like a Burgundy colour and Im wandering if they sold it in the UK, I like most colours but I don't like the lighter Red.
Any Help will be muchly appreciated

‘14-‘17 Italian Racing Red, (deep/burgundy red)
‘16- Caldera Red (bright red)
I don’t believe that color availability was market dependent.

Caldera Red is still available on the 2021 models and is a no cost option. They also offer Firenze Red for an extra $710. Caldera Red is the top photo, Firenze Red below. I have not seen them in person, but the Firenze Red may be a metallic paint ? It looks darker and I think more attractive than the Caldera Red.

Yes, my F Type is IRR and my wife's XE is Firenze. When the XE was new last year I could have sworn it was a different colour as it was more purpley especially in the sun, side by side in the garage the cars looked quite different. Even checking the codes (the same) didnt convince me. So I put some IRR touch up paint on a bit of paper and held it against the other car, which made it more obvious that they are the same. Now a year later, they look pretty much the same next to each other, though the colour changes in different light and as the angles of the car are different the colour is never identical.
It is a lovely colour, not so dark that it is hard to keep looking clean, I go a month between washes (though maybe part of that is the polish angel products I have been using which I promised myself I'd never mention again but I cant help myself because they changed my car washing life oh god I've done it again how can I stop but polish angel is so good why should I?). Looks amazing in the sun after a wash.

Damn, that IRR or Firenze Red looks good. I would have never considered a red colored car in the past, unless of course it were on a Ferrari. But seeing it on an F Type it also looks "right".
Question for those owners who do own red cars: Do you feel that color draws unwanted attention from the police, or from vandals, or anyone else ?
I really like the elegance of Santorini Black with chrome trim and bright wheels, or the classic Jaguar color British Racing Green also with chrome trim & bright wheels. The blacked out look does nothing for me in any color. But the F Type sure looks stunning in Firenze Red too.

Hi, I've had mine (IRR) for 4 1/2 years. It gets a lot of attention, but I cant recall it ever being negative. I've only been pulled over by the police once in it - for a random test - and he complimented me on the car.
I had a silver XKR before this car. Looks wise I dont think the XKR suffers much in comparison to the F Type. But the difference in attention getting is amazing, which I put down to colour. It has never been vandalised, but I have only left it on the street overnight once or twice.

People call it 'Ticket me red', but I have yet to get a ticket (2 warnings) in 7+ years and 65k miles. I was worried about not running a front plate (required here), but no one has ever noticed (other than at the annual state inspection.) Happily, no one was watching when I've gone, er, faster.
