Confirmation of F-Type paint code LJE
I read "LJE" off the door plate (should have taken a picture) and am having difficulty locating what that paint code is. The dealer's paperwork says it's silver, but to my wife and I it looks much darker, like a gray. The reason for the question is to confirm that there's no funny business going on with the car, like had it been painted. I realize that manufacturers can call any color anything they want, but we just want to chase this down before doing any further negotiating. Thanks.

Are you sure the paint code is LJE????
Coz I have searched high and low on the Interwebz with no luck at all, it does not appear to be a valid Jaguar paint code.
My searching shows this site as the best and most comprehensive for modern Jag paint codes: https://www.paintscratch.com/touch_up_paint/Jaguar/
I tried every year listed for the F-Type on that site but still no LJE.
However, the paint on my car is Lunar Grey, a metallic darkish silvery grey, and although the colour is described by JLR as grey I consider it to be more a silver than a grey.
It's paint code is LJZ, also shown as code 2028.
Maybe you meant Z when you typed E???
It would also help if you gave us the model year as the silver/grey F-Type paint colours changed almost every year from 2014 onwards.

It wouldn't have happened if you pronounced letters like we do in the UK, E (eee) and Z (zed) don't rhyme so no confuson here!
