Convertible Roof Creases - how to fix?
Hi there! Looking at purchasing an F-type R convertible in FL and have a deposit down. Car is immaculate except for some creases in the roof. Any recommendations for how to remove? I have read to use a steam cleaner but figured I would get the input here for any suggestions and to confirm if they can be removed before pulling the trigger.
Thanks!

The owners' manual says to keep the top UP when parked to reduce creases.
A steam cleaner might work (no experience) but simply leaving the top up after giving it a good soaking would probably help, too.
The one thing you need to be aware of is abrasions. When we were shopping we saw more than one 'vert with worn area near the front framework/support.
I just looked at our car, I can see 'fold marks' (not really creases) where our dusty top folded down when stowed. (Enjoyed a rare Feb. 62F. day yesterday!)
Now, I can't unsee it.

1. Do not aim the water jet directly at any rubber gaiters or seals on suspension joints.
2. Make sure that the water jet nozzle is more than 300 mm away from vehicle components.
3. Do not leave the convertible roof in the open position for longer than is necessary, as in certain circumstances, permanent soiling along the folds may occur.
4. Cleaning: Every 1000 miles, vacuum clean and wash the convertible roof. A retailer/authorised repairer is able to recommend suitable products.
5. Reproofing: Every 5000 miles, reproof the convertible roof material. A retailer/authorised repairer is able to recommend suitable products.
The dealer should be able to explain what procedures/products are used for reproofing and this could improve the appearance or even return the the roof to 'as new' condition.

I put my roof down all the time, way more than a 1000 times in 9.5 years. There are creases, I usually do a soft top cleaning and renew twice a year with chemical guy products, there a lot of products out there. The roof always recovers somewhat but wear is wear and in my opinion worth it. I always tell people don't buy a vert if you don't put the roof down or care about messing up your hair.
