Default Convertible trunk lift cylinders

I only have experience with mine, but how much of a lift are they supposed to provide? My trunk lid seems heavy and even when 90% open the cylinders don't finish the lift. Is this normal or should they do more lifting? I'm nearly out of warranty and want them replaced if they are "pooped out".

When I had an Audi that was almost up for warranty my service advisor had one of his infamous techs go through the car with a fine tooth comb. That cost Audi corp about $3500. Probably wise to do the same ;-)

Manual lid or electric? If manual, it should be a 15 minute job to replace. Probably just 1 has gone bad.

Me neither, but I wanted to make certain the bases were covered.
