Had a long drive today so looked at the knobs. The temperature knobs show the temperature and below that a seat graphic that says "Push". If you don't have that, you probably don't have heated seats (at least for 2016).

Cooled seats were only offered MY2018 onward. At a minimum the vehicle needed to have the premium leather performance seats (you couldn't get it on the base seats). As far as I know, you needed to get the heated and ventilated/cooled seats together -- for that reason, most of those wanting this option would have selected Climate Package 2 -- which would have heated/cooled seats plus the heated steering wheel and heated front windshield.

You can also look through the brochures to see what was offered.

Must say I've never even thought about cooled seats - not really a requirement in the UK!

I had them on my previous XKR and used them a few times during summer. And once accidentally in the winter!

I have heated/cooled seats in my 2021 R-Dynamic.
The leather seats are not perforated.
There are times when my wife has her seat heater on, and I have mine on cooling.
As you can guess, having dual controls was an important consideration at purchase!!

Now that's interesting. I've never seen a Jag with seat cooling without perforated seats. This is my 3d Jag with seat cooling and they all had perforated leather. Also wonder how the cooling can work without holes for the cool air to pass through. Do you have the base seats then?

NO, Major Tom, you are right!!
They are perforated, I just checked.
Perforations are very small unlike what I have seen in other vehicles.
Had never really noticed them previously.
Sorry for the mis-information.

My 2016 has performance seats, but no cooling, even though the controls are made to select it.

Having read through this thread, I still wonder. Are the seats actually cooled as in AC goes through the seat/back to cool you or are they just ventilated like the ones in my C43 coupe? I have found very few seats that the manufacturer labels as "cooled" to literally cool and they just blow air instead. Thanks.

Neither. They use Peltier cells which either heat or cool depending on the direction of current flow, and fans blow the cooled/heated air through the perforations in the leather. The cooling is very effective, as I discovered in my previous XKR when I inadvertently switched to max chill while trying to turn off the heating one very chilly morning.

This is funny. I can only imagine you driving along, thinking, "Geez, it seems REALLY cold this morning!"

That's exactly what I was thinking! In the XKR the seat heating/cooling was controlled via the touchscreen and I hit a bump as I pressed the last button to turn off the heater - that was enough to flip the cooling onto max! Fortunately, the F-type has a proper switch to do that, so the problem is much reduced.
