Lightbulb Cooling Mods Summary - Ftype R

Hello everyone. In this thread I will be Explaining in details the benefits I got from all my cooling mods on my 2015 Ftype R so that everyone gets an Idea of What to expect from each mod.
All the Data in the following summary are collected from the VAP JLR data logging tool and a consistent 80-200kmh/60-130mph pull on each log:

Car started with the following mods:
1- vap upper pulley and engine tune
2- vap 200 cell cats
3- ITG maxogen custom COI
4- Adv10 m.v2cs wheels with stoptech brake discs (weight savings)
5- Pierberg CWA100-3 supercharger coolant pump

Did the first log with the following intake temps data at the end of the pull (ambient temp was 18 celsius):

- Cruising IAT: 48 celsius
- Charged air max: 81 celsius
- post intercooler max: 45 celsius
- timing correction: only on cyl4 (3 degrees)
- dragy 100-200kmh: 7.34s

6- added meth (4 port on the SC plenum) 500cc/min total through a snowperformance progressive controller and pump connected to a prometh distributer and nozzles. The data were the following (18 celsius ambient):

- Cruising IAT: 48 celsius
- Charged air max: 51 celsius
- post intercooler max: 43 celsius
- timing correction: none
- dragy 100-200kmh: 7.14

added the following:

7- vap tcu tune (more boost around 12.5-13psi total vs. 11.5psi without it)
8- extra hx: E55amg hx from ebay front mounted after the CWA100-3 pump through hps lines
9- opened the intake vents on the bumper.

data were collected at 15 celsius ambient:

- Cruising IAT: 38 celsius
- Charged air max: 54 celsius (higher than prior due to more boost)
- post intercooler max: 38 celsius
- timing correction: none
- dragy 100-200kmh: 6.69 (60-130: 7.82s) can be found on dragy leaderboard

The conclusion:

Contrary to what most people believe, adding the extra hx will make cooling more efficient (extra hx not larger hx). The location of the hx matters significantly in this case. In fact, the delta between charged air temp to post intercooler temp went from 8 degrees prior to adding the hx to 16 degrees after adding it. It is well reflected on the dragy times as well. cruising temps decreased significantly from 48 to 38 with the hx as well.
In fact, adding the hx with with the water meth maintained the IAT at 38 from the start to the end of my 80-200kmh pull.

Regarding the plugs gap. I have tried gaping my ILKAR7C10s to 0.030 and it didnt feel as good. got another pair with the stock gap of 0.039 and felt better (no recorded data). I will try a 0.035 gap on my next plug and measure its compatibility with the upper pulley setup.

I am also installing the p7 diffuser next for better air management and record some dragy data if any.

Chears all and good luck.

This is amazing. Thank you for the hard work!

Could you share more info on the hx install and the coolant pump switch? I did both of those on my previous car, 2010 sc audi s4 which is a very similar setup. Very interested in how you did that!
