Ok enough! This thread was intended to have a positive response on how we enjoy our jags, and lucky to have one. I’ll start again by saying, we have some great roads in America. Go out and enjoy them, we are adhering to all the protocols, social distancing, less than 10 people. So enough, as I said we have great driving roads and last week I saw 135 in my My16 f type s, big smile on my face. Let’s be positive and we all acknowledge the severity of this virus. Life goes on and we all have to live and why not enjoy life when we can. Drive them like you stole them🏎

Sorry we all hijacked your thread, Frank. I'm glad Unhinged said it. Someone needed to. The 24 hour news cycle we have to live with these days demand fresh meat constantly. I suspect the networks are gloating since they couldn't scare us with the threat of a noreaster blizzard this winter here in the northeastern US. They have to get those ratings somehow. Let's not forget the politicians on both sides of the aisle one-upping each other over this. I'm planning on going to my local cars and coffee this Saturday. OK, so we park every other space! This is as close to martial law as anything I've ever seen in this country. These various restrictions are capricious and arbitrary. Bye, the way, The Glock is loaded with high grain hollow point ammo just in case anyone wants to try to relieve me of my toilet paper stash. Geez!

Agreed there’s enough doom and gloom on the news. Thought most of these responses were light hearted or sarcastic. Apologies for going down the rabbit hole.

Frank my16 s coupe.
I cannot wait. Another winter spritz coming our way and then hopefully some rain to finally wash away the road salt and I can uncover her and take her for a drive.

Ah, let's seque to an appropriate F type topic...Frank Barone said he saw 135 on his recent drive. I know my brochures say my R is computer limited to 186, yet I have not been there. 140 is my current top, yet may be further passed in upcoming days, as I reach towards an alternative to C-19 concerns. Any other "tops" out there among forum members?

Well, I beat you by 2MPH (indicated) a couple of years ago. Exciting, but I wouldn’t want to make a habit of it!

That’s what I’m talking about, your driving experiences. Next couple of days are rainy but Saturday and Sunday are clear and I expect to be driving!!! Guys and girls get out there and enjoy yourselves and please share.

Let's stick with the original intent of the thread guys, if you want discuss the nitty gritty of the virus or the politics the off Topic section has plenty of scope.

Here in the People's Republik, the weather seems to be turning. The sun just came out and it's supposed to be in the upper 70's today and tomorrow. With the incredible decrease in traffic, the twisties through the mountains beckon.

A couple of quick notes about the virus with apologies to Frank.
  • We got our rebate from Costco just before the end of Feb. They were fully stocked with everything except Clorox wipes. I spent it on mostly meat since it was essentially free. Didn't need tp, plenty in the normal stash.
  • Reg gas cash price is now $1.89 and dropping
  • The best news is that the MD General Assy. adjourned early limiting the damage that they could do. Unfortunately they unleashed a new education spending bill that will raise taxes dramatically just before they adjourned.
After blasting through the mountains tomorrow, I might even get the '31 Chevy out. Even though it's slow, doesn't handle well, and has a punishing ride, it's still a blast to drive.

As talking about the virus seems to become a tabu in the forum,
I just want to remember that there is a major risk that Jaguar will not survive the crisis.
Because already struggeling with finances, this situation could give them the dead shot.
We are all happy, life is beautiful.

Just poking, went for a drive yesterday and would estimate traffic to be 50% of normal, so at least one positive from all this.

Seriously, I had no idea. I thought attendants pumping your gas had gone the way of the Dodos, I haven’t seen that in Texas since the early eighties.

Is that a job-creation scheme, or a sign that politicians think you can't be treated like responsible adults?
