Corroded Fuel injectors

Hello
I was pretty happy with my 2015 F type( 6cylinder) with only 42,000 miles until my engine light turned on. The fuel injectors exposed to hood vents allows water to enter and eventually seep into injectors and cause corrosion.. The only 2 that looked ok were the two injectors sitting away from the vents. This is a design flaw that I believe was fixed in later models.
Unfortunately a corroded/oxidized fuel injector broke off and I now have a 14,000 dealer fee to fix. This is on top of 3700 bill. This is crazy and I really think is a design flaw In jaguar F type. I have seen some comments in other forums with similar problems. Awaiting feedback from Jaguar USA-andy feedback from members.

Not sure about later RWD models, but in the AWD the vents are further down the hood/bonnet so well away from injectors. And there are rubber shields under the vents, too.

Also, I understood that stubborn fuel injectors were a result of carbon build up on the inside. That is why I religiously apply BK44 and CRC Intake Cleaners, yearly.
With proper soaking with a penetrant and the appropriate approved puller, they SHOULD come out. SHOULD is the key word...if a shop/dealer was impatient....

If an injector broke off inside the combustion chamber, isn't pulling the cylinder head necessary to retrieve it?![Icon Emm](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_emm.gif)

If these amounts for repair are correct ($14,000 += $3700), the OP (which I have not seen any responses from BTW) would essentially be paying over 1/2 of the vehicles value to repair an injector?? This would be considered a Total Loss in most/many cases...
I do, however find it unlikely that it would be $14K to fix it. You could just buy an entire new head, and injectors and replace the whole thing for much less! A brand new Cylinder head is ~$2000 + Injector (which I assume was already purchased for the switch?) + labor...Not even close
to $14K. Labor @ $200 / Hr. even would have to be 70 Hrs.??? Seems crazy.

You added neither $ nor £ so could those prices be South African Rand? (ie $978)
I see your one post ever here was 2 days ago..
How long have you owned your '15 X152?

I had a very similar experience. I have a 2017 F-type S 6MT with no modifications. It has 48k miles and I am the second owner.
flashing check engine light, diagnosed as a failed injector. Dealer could not get the injector removed, had to remove the head and found corrosion in and around the injector and an adjacent cylinder’s injector. Jaguar UK authorized the entire head replacement along with various other components that had been found to be rusted and stuck.
They billed about 30 hours, but the main section of the repair order had no hours marked. I can imagine the bill would have been in the same ballpark had it not been under warranty.

So to check further...I looked up the Jaguar Book/Service Manual times and full Dealer Prices. I duplicated labor (additional) for all 3 injectors on top of R&R Cylinder Head and Gasket change and other included operations like leaning Carbon, Valve adjustments, and Plugs. I used $200/HR and attached is the total estimate I could come up with, which again includes (too much - duplicate labor). I still do not see how they would get to $17,700??!!
Even a complete Engine Removal and Install with Overhaul has a quoted labor time of 36.1 Hours...![Confused](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)
