Default CTEK 4.3 for F-type

Hi everyone

In the search for the ultimate battery charger/tender for my newest (to me) F type R 2015, I have found that the CTEK Mus 4.3 looks like a great choice.
Please note that my car will be stored during the winter in my heated garage for at least 5 months !
I was wondering if this CTEK is a good choice and if I need any other convenient cables when I place my order. Any pictures of your setup would help too

thanks !

Alex

The 4.3 is exactly what I have, as well as several other members on the forum. If you have more than 1 vehicle, you might consider getting an extra eyelet so you can leave it attached. (I have one on the F-Type and another on my lawn mower.)

Amazon Amazon

You'll find pictures on the wiring setup in the sticky "How To" thread.

Exactly what I have. Works great, the pig tail is easy to hide in the trunk as its just long enough to stick just slightly outside the well cover. Also the main unit is very durable as I have pulled out of the garage, as has my wife and my son, and dragged it having forgotten it was attached. User error of course but the thing takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I have a silly question.
I have also ordered the CTEK extension cable so I will be able to place my battery tender very far from the car.
What do you do with this cable ? I mean, my trunk is motorized so do you just close the trunk on the cable even though the trunk will not close properly ?

Cheers

Lead it to the rear corner and the trunk closes just fine

Or else you could do what I did and connect the pigtail lead to the charging posts under the hood, especially useful if it's easier for you to access the front of the car rather than the rear, see here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...3/#post1710314

If you dont mind cutting a small square in your rear boot trim, this is the best way for a permanent solution, and is similar (but better) than the Jaguar supplied item. It also has the benefit of telling you the state of the battery. Search for 'Ctek CTE-56380 Ctek Comfort Indicator Panel Adaptor'. (Amazon in the Uk has them). You wire in exactly the same as the Jaguar accessory.
