Custom F-Type Mobile Phone Holder
#21
Hey everyone im as a new F-Type owner I for a good mobile phone holder. I came across one solution and it didn’t look great. The lack of options is rather disappointing and frustrating.
I decided to design and 3D print my own bracket. It mounts onto the grab bar and paired with a very highly rated phone holder, it seems to work well.
I've covered the inside of the bracket in felt so as to not damage or mark the grab bar's leather. It attaches directly to an Mpow phone holder - https://goo.gl/WFfmCE which i think fits all phones. I designed it to allow me to still see and use all console controls.
Check out the photos and let me know what you guys think?
PM me if your interested and would like me to 3D print/make you one for left hand cars, id be happy to do so. I would kindly ask for a small fee to cover the cost of 3D printing and shipping from the UK to the USA. PM me if you’re interested. (hopefully I’m not overstepping any forum rules, just let me know if i am)
Cheers
JK

I've been happy with my Amazon one, I have a 3d Printer, but I don't see much room gained by printing a new bracket. The holding mechanism is just a simple lever that squeezes the sides when it puts pressure to the bottom and I routed my wire from the cubby with just enough wire to let me grab it if I need to enter anything.

I just made one for myself - didn't think to look on ETSY or ebay
The print files I used are on thingverse - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1739011
Initially printed in yellow because I thought it would match the stitching but much too rave club glo
removed pictures as they look OK on preview but end up being pages of code ??
one more try :
Very happy with it and am feeling less inclined to rip out the center console and seats to install the android / car play interface.
I use a spotify car thing for music and it all connects seamlessly when I get in the car, my biggest challenge was that I prefer to use google or ways for navigation and this makes that all happen without risking the phone going flying.
