Damage and Repair
#61
I haven't pulled anything apart to look at the underpinnings, but the paint looks every bit as good as the factory. I can't tell the difference between the door and the quarter panel. I'll dig deeper in the next couple of days, but it was too damn hot this afternoon.
The short answer is that yes, I *am* satisfied. I'll follow up later once I poke around more.

After what I'm still going though with my XKR I'm happy to see you got your car back.
Go after Diminished Value, Progressive sent me a check for 2400 on 6k repairs and 10k in lost value at trade in on a hit and run. Sue them if you have to they can't even live up to their own contracts.
The fact you were also put out of a car for 4 months that you are still paying for is enough of a hassle.
I'm really happy to see the repairs came out so well! Aluminum car repair is not an easy task and your car look great! I hope it drives just at it did before.

I just realized this is identical to the pain of a renovation, but one you weren't expecting. That's a long haul, and your patience is awesome. Now we can go look at those race helmets. =)
Man, that's a long time. I lose it for an overnight of scheduled service. Well done!!!

That is correct, and while I did take such a picture this is not it. That picture would be old on the left and new on the right. This picture is of the spoiler and right quarter, so it's new on the left, old on the right.
I washed the car and clayed it yesterday. Today I'll look for any places that could use the lightest polish (original paint) before I treat with CQuartz. The only issue I've found in all that scrutiny is that a plastic panel in the cargo area needs to be shifted slightly.

Too late.
I asked the body shop just after I picked it up and they did not advise me to wait. Instead, they directed me to the premier detailer they recommend. I prefer to do such things myself though, so here we are.
