Default Damptronic (active shock) longevity?

How long do the active shocks last.....anyone replace them as of yet?

If they are Bilstein B4's....those supposedly last 100k...?

Thanks all.

I had not heard they were manufactured by Bilstein and am not sure it's true. Bilstein shows no products available for my car at all, regardless of whether I select US or International markets. Can anyone confirm manufacturer?

Interesting. Here's the full link, if I got that right. It looks to have the connector on top and is Bilstein. It makes no mention of AWD/RWD, and those are different.

That part number cross-referenced on a US Jaguar site shows "adaptive dynamics, without variable damping." Not that the fitment information is all that reliable; the accessory manual transmission shift knob showed as only fitting automatics. I digress. My recollection is that the B4 is non-adjustable and called the HD in the US, with the B6 being designed for lowered cars and called SP here. I don't think either of those is considered rebuildable, but some models are. Bilstein lists nothing for the F-Type and neither does the supplier I used for the last Bilsteins I bought. I suspect there's some exclusivity agreement.

EDIT: I just took a break from the screen to crawl around in the driveway. The LR shock is installed such that I can see the BILSTEIN logo and "Made in Germany."

Would this be for all years? S? R? Manual? Automatic?

Thanks all!

It is possible no one has ever actually replaced them....seems unlikely but possible. Encouraging actually.

At least on this forum, I've yet to hear/read of anyone who has replaced one due to mileage or wear. Replacement due to accident damage? Seen that locally.

Here is the Bilstein link showing all Jaguar fitments. Just put your car details in. I did a few for fun and they do break out AWD and RWD for the F-Type. Note that if purchased from Bilstein they have a lifetime warranty. I also checked for my XJR but they don't show anything so apparently not everything is covered. I have heard that calling them might help too.

Bilstein Product Selector

Here is the rear one for your 2016 F-Type S AWD. Part #26-231518.
Sorry no prices listed so probably have to purchase thru a dealer?

Bilstein Product Selector
I ended up on a different Bilstein page:

https://performance.bilstein.com/en/products/

It shows "No products for your selection." It looks like I was in the place to look for upgrades from OE, and OE was not shown.

Interestingly, They ask for 'year of construction". According to the sticker on the doorjam, ours was made in 2013, so NO shocks were listed for the F.

Putting in 2014 (the model year) DID achieve results.

As mentioned, it says "Available from dealer"

Pictured April 2020

BUT, The product selector also says these will fit:

EVO T1 (with adjustment knobs on top for ride height & stiffness) seems to be an actual 'upgrade' to the base model since it has the adjustment...
