Default Darn, I thought "this time would be different....."

I waited patiently for 2 years before buying my F type (previously owned), and told myself that this car is it, it is so sexy and bad a#$ you will never get tired of it. This is one you will want to keep forever.

But here we are, a mere 2.5 years later, and I feel like I "need" something more exotic. Always starts the same, see a YouTube review or read an article, and the imagination takes over. Latest object of desire, the Acura NSX. Like the F type, it's not perfect, and accordingly hasn't sold very well. But that makes it exclusive, and it's good looks, strong reliability, and impressive performance (10.6 sec 1/4 mile with downpipes and tune), plus the ability to take turns as fast as straightaways make me think I need it over the F type. Sat in one at the LA Auto Show, and visibility is fantastic, the hood is low, and the new colors and chrome delete make it sexy. Add in some discussions of $40K+ off sticker and, well, its tough to not want to put the F type on the market, or even trade it in for one of these.

The cheap dutchman in me says no, I'll be in the same place in 3 years - only $50K lighter in the wallet....The part of me that has been effectively married 3 times says go for it....

Blahaha....I’m a 3 time sucka too. And I’m like the Mr. Mayhem on your shoulder saying do it, you only live once. But be warned in 6 months you will wish you had the F Type back.

on wifey 2 I had 27 vehicles in 20 years. Wife 3, so far 9 in 4 years and no signs of stopping

My first three cars were Hondas and I was an instant yuge fan of the original NSX when it first came out in 1989.
But guess how much a new NSX costs in Oz?
$471,329!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...D-513556/?Cr=6
Just a tad outside my price range, reckon I will stick with the measly F-Type for now.

I understand your temptation. I seriously considered the new NSX when it first came out, but, in the end, couldn't take the compromises they made to get the car released. As you probably know, it had an extended development cycle and the had major changes in direction late the process. It put a lot of pressure on the performance details. Don't rule out the original NSX. It's performance won't measure up to what you have now, but it's a classic bargain, and you could easily have both.

As it is, I still get the thrill from the F-Type. I've considered moving into a SVR, but might feel bad cheating on my S. My next temptation might be a Taycan.

If it is 90s one, you have good taste for reliable super cars. It is already collectable but have not finished appreciating. If it is modern version of NSX, why would you want over-complex hybrid that underperforms and is not desired by most people? Unless you buying it at a steep, steep, steep discount - reconsider.
