Dead Battery - thanks Forum!

Went to start the car, battery totally dead. New battery only 2 months ago. Nice long run before the problem, and car left for just a few days before the dead battery problem. Put it on Ctek-type charger (optimate), and after 24 hours, the charger was still trying to put full charge into the battery, which was only partially charged, still quite flat.
So, read up forum threads on the battery. There was a thread from SOV211 about the red warning triangle being on, and plugging things into the OBDII port.
So, a quick look showed me that the locked car still had the red triangle on, and shortly before the issue an auto rescue man (very helpful) had plugged into that port. Battery not "hard reset" after.
So, I've now disconnected the negative lead, have the optimate charging the disconnected battery, and hopefully it will be problem solved when I reconnect.
So thanks SOV211 and all on the forum.
I imagine there will be various things on the trip computer etc that I'll have to re-set?

Just a heads up in case it doesn't work for you and you are left scratching your head.

Thanks all for the advice. Yes, I put it on my optimate (CTEK type charger) overnight with the battery disconnected at the negative terminal. Battery now right up. Re-connected, and the red triangle goes out after about 10 mins after locking, so all good I think!
I'll do the window resetting next time I go out. Can't do it right now; just setting off in the E Type for a charity run. We'll be stopping off for coffee at Nick Mason's house! (Pink Floyd) He has an extensive collection of classic cars, so we've been welcomed to park on his lawns. Not sure if he'll be there himself, but if so a good chance for a selfie! Pink Floyd and Led Zep were always (and still are) my favourite bands. Sorry if this is off topic!
