Dealership Won't Service 2016 F-Type

I had an appointment with my local (a 102 mile drive from my house) Jaguar Dealership to look at an O2 sensor that prompted a check engine light to come on. Not a super issue. Day before my appointment I got a call telling me that since my car was a 2016 they are no longer servicing 2016' and earlier Jaguars I was a bit pissed, because when I bought the car I got the expensive additional warranty. After some discussion with the shop manager, he told me they would service the car one last time and that the Birmingham Jaguar is no longer selling Jaguars only Land Rovers.
My issue is oil changes and routine maintenance. I'm sure I can't just go to Jiffy Lube and have them change the oil. I had heard the F-Type uses a very specific type of oil, filters, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions about oil changes? Has anyone had any experience with Jiffy Lube type places doing oil changes and everything is fine with the car? I'd rather not have to drive to Atlanta Jaguar for a simple oil change. Someone around here mentioned Christian Brothers is a good place to go for service on imports, but a Jaguar F-Type is not your typical import. Does anyone have any advice?
You all have been super helpful in the past and I'm hoping to find a solution here where I live. Thanks again - Wayne

I might try to find a nearby independent shop that specializes in JLR vehicles. That's what I did. My guy uses OEM parts and fluids.
If you're not afraid to change the oil yourself with a fluid evacuator you might try that as well. It's easy peasy. Liqui Moly offers an oil that works fine for f types.

I do hope this is not something we're all going to experience moving forward.
Part of the death of customer service, across the board and in any/every transaction imaginable.
Glad I'm old
But lucky, so very lucky to at age 67 to enjoyed the highest standard of living in all of human history.
Sorry to say, but IMHO, it's all downhill from here.

yes, you can do your own oil changes and save $$$ as well.

Jaguar spec oil and filters. and they sell the "kit" with everything you need. I chose the Liqui-Moly.
After many years of doing standard Old British Car oil/etc changes, the F presented a novel way of changing the oil... all from above in the engine compartment.
I really liked this video:
I did follow the recommendation to run some inexpensive 0W20 to flush the pan.. about 1/2 of 5 litre Quaker State full synthetic
Make sure you note exactly how much you took out, general recommendation is to refill with 7.25 Litres.. Let the car sit, start it, let it idle down, let it sit again, check level on instrument cluster. You can then add/extract oil as needed. check again the next day, always be sure car is on level surface.
The biggest investment other than the oil, was the Mityvac, but there are other extractors out there.
You can also change your own cabin filters. If you have the bottle of tire sealant, you may want to check the expiry date.. Airman Unibottle is a good consideration for replacement, as it fits in the foam compartment (coupe).
There are MANY other DIYs on this forum. The folks here have AMAZING knowledge and skills.

When you go into the dealer, you should ask the service manager if they are still an authorized repair center. Like yours, my closest (now former) dealer stopped selling Jaguars as part of the network reduction, but is still selling Land Rovers. They continue to be an authorized Jaguar repair center, and, as such are on the hook to provide warranty service - at least through 5 years after the last one sold. Past that, you could be on your own. Do your own oil changes as Valerie described. Or, go to an independent - even if you have to provide the parts. Most will do that.
Jiffy Lube is a great place -- for state inspections. The nice part is that they aren't likely to recommend their usual array of "other" items you should service, since it's a Jaguar.

When did you purchase the car and was it from the same dealership? If so, may want to see if you can get some sort of refund if they are not able to continue servicing your car.
And I would also start looking at independent spots around your area as well as learn how to do your own oil change. This is by far, one of the easiest cars to perform an oil change on.

Isn't this old news?
Any mainline dealer still selling Jags will service them, and the ones that lost their right to sell Jag will not after the 10 year mark. I thought this info was already out there.
Thought I read some articles communicating this, and/or info on this site in some threads.

I too, just experienced an issue with an O2 sensor. I went to the only Jaguar dealer in the state to have it warranty serviced and was told "we are not taking any new clients". With a little persistance I was able to get an appt. (next week). I would be more than happy to change my own sensors if they would supply them to me. (free of charge, of course)

So did we confirm that the OPs dealer is no longer able to service the car or just choosing not to? I’m not on the forum daily, but I’ve been on many other forums and never heard of a dealer not servicing a car (although I guess I understand the logic in the previous post).
My dealer will not be selling the electric Jaguars but it continues as a Land Rover dealership, and will continue to service Jaguars as well as selling pre-owned Jags. This dealer has no trouble at all servicing older Jaguars, and by older, I mean reaching back into the 80’s…a couple of weeks ago I saw an XJS and two V12 Vanden Plas cars there (late 80’s or very early 90’s) along with current and recent models. Good business for them and good for the clients.
