Decelerating lurch at low speed / rpm
Ok gang, got another one that I'm not sure if I should be concerned about or not. When in stop/go traffic does anyone get a pretty impressive lurch as soon as you let off the gas? We are talking from low speeds here, 15 mph or so. For a while I've thought the transmission just sucks at picking a low gear and was downshifting, but today I found that it does it even in manual shift mode with first gear selected. Is this a symptom of a mechanical problem or just an idiosyncrasy within the spectrum of normal?

Hmmm. I've found the F-type to be remarkably smooth when decelerating in lower gears, or when lifting off - no lugging at all. Does it matter whether it's in dynamic? At low revs, the torque converter should be pretty slippy, and I wouldn't expect any kind of jerk. (Cue Seinfeld: The jerk store called...)

I have AWD, and while I wouldn't describe it as a "lurch", I do feel a surge when coasting "downhill" leaving parking garage (~15 MPH). One thing I have noticed recently is that there is a hard engagement/clunk of transmission when shifting from Park to Reverse. I don't remember it being like that at the beginning (current mileage = 6K mi). I will be having it looked at by dealer.

- Whenever I release the gas pedal and press it again in speeds lower than 30 mph, i used to feel a slight bump/lurch coming from the back of the car.
- when i switch the gear to R, i can hear and feel a slight/faint bump from the gearbox. It doesn't happen on D. This always happens, doesn't matter if the car is cold or warmed up.
I kept the car with the dealer for three weeks to resolve these issues. They updated the gearbox software to the latest available one, but that did not resolve the issues. Post that, they consulted Jaguar and they were advise to replace the rear differential under warranty. I received the car after the changes were completed, but the two issues are still there. I am wondering if these issues are normal, or should I be worried.
I drove my friend's 2017 range rover that I believe has the same gearbox, and i was able to feel that bump when pressing the gas pedal.

In my XE (RWD), there is a distinct feeling of something engaging/disengaging, occuring probably around 5mph, when you are coasting down to a stop. I've always assumend this was just the torque converter going from locked mode to slippery.
It's not the gears changing, because it will occur if you are in S mode in 1st gear.

the only time I feel a 'lurch' in my v6s is when I am in paddle shift mode and take first or second gear to the upper rpms and let off the gas. That's just transferring from acceleration mode to deceleration mode. I assume this is normal
Imagine you are in first gear and you are trying to get the crackles and snorts, this is when this happens

What about the Reverse gear slight/faint bump, are you guys having the same symptom in your cars?
