Had a great time hitting the famous Woodward Dream cruise. The actual cruise starts tomorrow Saturday and runs all day. One of the largest cruises in the country. I had a blast tooling around in first gear maximizing the pops. :-)
Also found another F-Type, 2016 blue V6 ragtop. Beautiful car!
We had dinner at the coolest restaurant ever, Vinsetta's Garage, which is an actual garage built in the 50's at least, and they left a ton of the original parts and pieces of the garage, super cool.
Having lived not 5 minutes from Van Nuys Blvd, the west coast's version of Woodward, I can't tell you how many times (in the many hundreds) I cruised with friends, doing stoplight to stoplight racing, trying to pick up young women, going to Bob's Big Boy and getting outdoor service. My new banana yellow 1969 Cougar Eliminator and I spent many a fun night there for years until the LAPD decided to close Van Nuys Blvd down at night to eliminate the cruising. Interestingly, several years ago, the city embraced the nostalgia around cruising on Van Nuys and initiated Wednesday night "Cruise Nights" which is still going on now. And while the Van Nuys Bob's Big Boy is long gone, the Toluca Lake/Burbank one is alive and well and has a car show every Friday night in its parking lot. Lots of fun.
And coincidentally, I will be in Detroit at the end of the month for my niece's wedding, and will certainly take a trip over to Vinsetta's.
