Default Did Anyone Buy The 5-Piece F-Type Luggage Yet?

My understanding was Jaguar dealers were offering this luggage option at [greatly] reduced prices and wondering if anyone has purchased it yet? And while the coupe has a more spacious trunk than the convertible, hard to imagine 5 pieces of luggage (5 pieces of anything) fitting back there.

Thanks,
RJ52

I have the official Jaguar 5 piece set. It's pretty good. I bought it from the UK and can't quite recall the cost but I paid quite a bit less than the US retail price even with shipping.

Website says it includes a 24 inch suitcase, a 20-inch carry-on rolling case, a garment bag, a briefcase and a washbag. The last 2 are very small. The garment bag is also pretty slim.

Personally I wouldn't bother. I have my own suitcases for this purpose also in similar sizes and I suspect the Tumi pieces are much higher quality than these.

I have it. Really a 2pc set with 3 smaller accessory pieces. I like it, fits enough for a long weekend for 2. I think the quality is good for the small amount that are made. Makes planning a trip that much easier. Best price I found was from a Jag dealer on Ebay for $490 shipped.

I got 2 of them (the large and the mid sized bags) from the dealer as an unexpected gift at delivery. Together with a Land Rover bike.

The bags look nice and are quite accommodating for a few days trip around the countryside.

Nice client "pampering" program I'd say.

Don't have them, but am a bit of a luggage nerd and traditionally, road-trip luggage is soft-sided canvas or leather.

Dunhill (british, for a british car) used to make some really nice luggage but has scaled back their product line a lot.
Ghurka and Mulholland Bros also make nice crafted roadtrip bags made in the USA.

For the stratus grey F-Type this was the best i could find....

The Gucci bags match way better with a Maserati ! Or ... wait.. is that a LV bag ?
Oh yes, I haven't heard of a real french sports car. The color is also cool. Nice buy schraderade!

Really?

I'm beginning to think I've fallen into a rather odd crowd having purchased an F-Type and joined this forum.

Yeah would have preferred British but couldn't find anything good. Was in London last month and looked around for a bit...

Generally it seems like the kind of thing they would be good at because there's been this resurgence in British consumer brands (Jaguar, Mini, Dunhill, Burberry, Paul Smith, etc) over the past decade and this kind of high-margin crafted luxury good they'd want to export.

Dear Foosh,
whether you like it or not, by owning an F-type you are automatically associated with this "odd crowd" you are mentioning. But, this is a rather complex crowd.
It's not that you MUST purchase designer stuff to get along with your car. We also drive our F-types in ragged jeans and skull t-shirts most of the times. I know I am.

But being able to afford this car also usually means that you do not have to ONLY buy everything from Zara and H&M or Chinatown. You simply do not feel/care that you are overcharged by getting some really nice and quality designer items to match your car purchase.
I was fortunate to get the F-type bags free of charge, but why in the world would I be cheap and not buy them after spending so much on the car It is a nice touch, by all means!

Please correct me if I am wrong.

LOL . . . I was just kidding and everyone's "boat is floated" by different things. For example, my road trips are generally taken in the vehicle below, and I don't need luggage because I put my clothes in the cedar-lined closets and dressers.

Respect. Different type of road trip altogether, but that thing looks amazing.

I like the paint job....it's freaking huge so that breaks up the lines to make it less glaringly visible.

It's pretty obvious Foosh was only kidding...and who said anything about being able to afford this car? Some of us have kids in medical school - after putting them and others through 4 years of college (debt free thankfully) along with other obligations - but I just had to have this car after seeing it, reading about it, and, above all, driving it. I can barely afford it BUT had to have it. To quote one of my old friends, "nobody lives better on less than RickyJay52"

By the way, make my luggage Bottega Veneta. Lovely understated stuff...like our F-Type!

Indeed, it would likely be very entertaining for anyone not in harm's way. I have to be very careful about taking the "back roads" in this country as well.

And, as you can see, we really like orange!
