I have no experience with this company, their quality or how to get these models in the US, but they show 1:18 scale polaris white and firesand R coupes scheduled for release sometime this month. I personally would like to see some higher resolution images before buying one but this could be an option. So far no love from any manufacturer on a convertible 1:18 scale model, unless they are in the works somewhere in a secret lab.

I tried to post their Facebook page but it will not display. They have better photos of other models there: TrueScale Miniatures on Facebook

Thanks for the tip. These people seem to make some very nice models. I think I may also buy the 1:12 scale McLaren P1. They also have a beautiful 1:8 scale Mercedes Gullwing that I would love to own - but its super pricey and sold out.

Thank for finding that. It's a start I suppose. I figured it would be a coupe first, but like the real thing, I'd only be interested in a convertible.

You could always buy this full scale model to add to your collection, it’s a beauty!

I got a lead that Top Speed Models is coming out with two 1:18 coupes. It's not on their website yet, but I'm in touch (and checking about a 'vert).

FYI, from their "About Us" page...

TopSpeed Model is a new brand from the makers of TSM-Model, producing entry level 1/18 scale replicas for collectors with a strong balance between price and quality.

By utilizing our resources and experience in the model industry, TopSpeed has a goal of delivering great value. Using the latest in 3D scanning technology allows us to minimize development costs and decrease the cost of producing accurate models for collectors. By focusing our efforts on popular subject material we are able to spread out development costs over a larger production, and this also allows for additional savings when producing related models that share common parts. We aim to offer the perfect balance between price and quality and use our years of manufacturing experience to the direct benefit of collectors worldwide.

This new brand will offer a wide range of selections, with initial offerings featuring modern sports cars such as the new Acura NSX and the Ford GT. With a product range including automotive heavyweights such as Jaguar, McLaren and Alfa Romeo, TopSpeed will offer something for everyone.

At last, a proper 1:18 die-cast is (almost) here. Limited edition (999) coupe.

I have a Top Marques of our Maserati Ghibli, I waited for a year from BBR. Nicest model I have ever bought. Would love the same level for F Type and has to have both roadster and coupe. Expensive but the F Type is worth it! AutoArt did my SLK, it is pretty nice also but car didn't really need one this nice.

Wow. That one looks way better than mine. Much better detailed and everything opens. On mine there are no windows on the doors, and the trunk doesn't open...only the hood and doors.

The Autoart model will be available in 4 colors. Don't know why 3 months later it still hasn't launched.

Looks like it will be a long wait for the AutoArt model. I emailed them and this was the response.

Dear Sir,

thank you for your mail.

There is no confirmed delivery date for the Jaguar F Type 1 18
But it should be coming till the end of the year.

Schönen Gruß

I would prefer a plastic model kit. Loved these when I was a kid. Then I could customize too.

Try to avoid the gluey fingerprints on the windshield. Always hated that.
