I email/phone ahead with the pricing I'm looking for, so I don't have to worry about negotiating at the time of the order/sale. If they are not willing to work with that number (or in that ballpark) then I move on to another dealer who will.

Just ordered my F-Type R with a November 6th delivery. That will be 4 looooong months!

No sympathy from me: That's half of my wait. I put down a deposit in November and don't expect to see the car until the end of the month.

Of course, I ordered before they'd even finalized specs, but that doesn't change my stance.
