Default Differential alternate fluid/oil.

Wanted to share with anyone interested. I got my 2017 F-Type Premium V6 RWD automatic trans a week ago and found lots of videos of horrible diferential issues in shorter time than usual.

I did some research and found I can substitute the Castrol Bot 720 at $60/quart for Royal Purple 75w/90 for around $23/Quart.

There are other choices im sure but I have always had great results with RP. No they don't pay me but they should.

Anyways, i made a youtube video as detailed as I could. I will link it below.

Has anyone else used anything different and if so, good or bad results?

My result after several days of driving seems good.

I normally use Redline MT-90 in my differentials, but I thought I read it was not for use in LSD applications, so I bought the Castrol

I had my diff fluid replaced a few months ago with Motul Gear 300 LS and no problems since. Just make sure it's the LS (stands for limited slip, doh!) and not the plain Jane variety.

I used the Redline LSD flavor. They even has small (2 oz?) bottle of the friction modifier if the standard mix is a little too "grabby."

Glad to have some feedback.
i located my fill plug looking at diagrams from other posts only to find mine was opposite side and actually not too hard to get to.

Once i sort of had it figured out by looking i started my video but didn't dialize it was a hex not a square till after I drained it. But i have parts store down the road and a motorcycle if i need anything.

my next venture will be the transmission fluid when the time comes.

Good luck.

The transmission is much more complicated/involved than the Diffs. My DIY may help, and will at least give you a sense for what you are getting in to. Certainly doable, but not simple like the diff drain and fill.
